Those are sundays right? I believe either the 22 or the 29 would be ok with me. Let me know when we have a final date ASAP...I gotta make sure it's cool with the guy who pays me......

So are we having another mid-a meet already? I'd definately be interested in coming to it. Someone please let me know when and where and I'll see what I can do about attending. Can't make it so close to the Tyson's Corner/DC meet though.

I was thinking about the meet. I don't think we should handle the food the same way we did last time. I mean if we are expecting a certain number of people and the food they are going to bring, we might not have enough, like this past years. I have two ideas, one where no one gets screwed and one where it is a possibility. 1) we can have people bring only what they are going to eat (ie a few hotdogs, fried chicken, etc) that way everyone eats what they bring. 2) a bunch of us chip in a buy the food for X number of people. When they arrive they can give a donation. this would require us to keep good records of how much the buyers spend in order to split it correctly.
If we are to expect more people, it might be hard to organize food the same way we did last year. I think that part of the meet needs to be revamped. I personally like option #1, but i understand that some people are coming from afar. Let me know

I never noticed a problem with us running out of food. if people would bring what they're told to...
I think the one main item, one side item, and one 2 liter drink would be fine again. but that's just me

Yeah, it actually would have worked pretty well if a couple of people hadn't cancelled at the last minute. We had to make a run at the last meet, but it was only for 2 items. We had two people drop the night before the meet, and they were both scheduled to bring hamburgers and hot dogs . . . We just need to make sure that this time we assign critical items to the people who know FOR SURE that they're coming, namely the coordinators. If the "Meet Committee" (kinda like the sound of that) is also the "MEAT Committee", then we won't have a problem. Heck, we had PLENTY of side items this past year, and PLENTY of drinks . . . we just ran out of meat, lol.

It isn't that i didn't like the way the last one was run, it is just that if we are expecting more people, that means more confusion, more work to keep things straight, and possibly not enough of some things. That is all i was bringing up. figure we had about 40-50 people there last time. Now that we have everyones interest and it is gonna be in PA, we may have 100 people give or take a few. That will lead to a lot of confusion. Just my opinion.

I agree Robb, this time around, I am sure it will be a lot larger than it was this past time. The simpler we keep things, the better it will be. Plus, I am glad we are planning this far in advance...no one will have an excuse for not showing this time!

I, too, agree w/ rob. as far as people bringin their own food, i think that is the best idea, for several reasons.
1. less confusion obviously,
2. less waste, or tryin to split 15 extras among 5 people,
3. we wont be stuck running for things at the last minute
if people have a long drive and dont want to bring food, there is a McDonald's less than 3/4 of a mile away, someone could lead a "Drive-Thru Parade of 7th Gens". lol. If someone doesnt like McDonald's, id be happy to escort a few people to the nearest Taco Bell, KFC, Wendy's, Burger King, or Hardee's. Those last 5 are all within a 5-10 minute drive away.
I think those on the "Meet Committee" should also be assigned to bring the essentials, i.e., cups, napkins, utensils, etc. Myself or some other locals(kiry, or scott), could pick up some snacks and extra drinks, since this will probably go most of the day.
As for desserts, ill see if i can get my mom to make some stuff for us, she has a bunch of great recipies, and im sure she wouldt mind makin a few things.

Yeah desserts are easy, but I am glad you guys agree!! i figured it would be easiest this way. If people have a long drive, they can stop at the grocery store and get stuff. i am sure some people will have extras. It will be all good!
For what its worth, I vote for Sunday, June 29th. I would hate to get back to Maryland and I just missed the Mid Atlantic meet. If its that date I will definately be there and in full support!

although, if its on a sunday, some people might have to leave earlier if they have a long drive, but i guess 2 "early leavers" is better than one "cant come". ill keep it in mind man.

Some people emailed me when i first sent out the email that they wanted to go, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they CAN go. I think we will have to way till April/May/June for people to tell fo' sho'. I have been gather emails of people who have been posting around this forum. I am sure we will have a big bunch tho!!
I think its still too early to see how many people can go. You know jobs and other stuff...Theres always that last minute thing that prevents someone from going. So I think we will see how many people can go as we get closer to the time. At this time I will say I am going.
Perhaps something that the "meet committee" might like to work on; is if we are going to give out prizes and awards this time around. We can contact various places for sponsorships, donations, etc... Just a thought, since that will probably take some time to get together.
