Come on the ex is the only civic that even has vtec, therefore it is the only civic I would have even considered buying to begin with (Granted it doesn't add much hp, but come on it's a f'n civic with a D17 it needs anything it can get). Plus the added goodies everyone else mentioned....ABS, side airbags, sunroof ( I live in florida, this alone has unlimited potential). Plus the black door handles and mirrors just look cheap and sh!tty. [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-puke.gif[/IMG]
Like someone else mentioned I see no point in buying a new car and going for the lower models. Especially since Honda made the ex such a better value for the money.

My mom said the car had to have ABS... I chose the Civic. So EX was the only choice. I didn't care about the sunroof, I've never had one before. CD player was nice, but I would have changed that really fast if it came with a casette deck. Also wanted alloy wheels, dealer tossed in the 00 Si rims with the EX's. So I bought it. I really didn't know exactly what VTEC did when I bought the car. I vaguely understood that it added the extra power, but didn't know how it worked, so that wasn't a major point at the time.

Rep Power: 0 WELL... I like my lx. I have an 02 so handles match. I'm changing the mirrors so I didn't mind the mirrors not matching, I am getting a factory installed moonroof in a couple of weeks so I didn't mind not getting one with it. I don't mind not having the extra power cause I drive like a grandma anyways.. well at least my gf thinks so. I added tweeters to it for my quart components too. so I love my lx. at any rate I got my lx for 13000 with 7 miles on it. not bad. so I like my lx
naw,i luv my EX and all iwanted was the moonroof...my only regret is that i got a coupe & not a sedan..i hate gettin comfy and then movin my seats all the damn time...sheesh

Rep Power: 0 Never thought twice had a 88 dx that didn't have everything and I hated that. So my 01 had to have everything 
first car I have owned with a sunroof but I hardly use it where I live now but I love it dark. Never had to use the ABS but yeah I love my 01 ex.

Rep Power: 0 Every one of you that mentioned VTEC as a reason is an idiot. Bottom line. Sunroof, colored handles n' mirrors, ABS good reasons.
But for the extra 2 whp and useless SOHC VTEC
