question about being at a stop or light
Is the reason to be in neutral at stop signs or traffic lights this: if you have it in first the whole time you're depressing the clutch pedal at every stop or light then you're putting a lot of extra load/work on the pressure plate. obviously, this will be detrimental to the pressure plate compared to just being in neutral a lot of the times to give the plate a "breather." What do you guys think?

yeah, it increases load on the pressure plate. I was in traffic once during NY rush and it was stop and go for like an hour. My old car's pressure plate heat up, and when it was time to go, i gave it gas and went nowhere until it cooled.

yes, it puts wear on the clutch/pp/flywheel to keep it depressed for long periods of time. plus with my 6 puck clutch of death, id have 1 leg that looks like it belongs to a pro wrestler if i did that all the time.
if you leave the clutch pedal pressed at lights, your slave cylinder will develop leaks. when this happens your clutch pedel will be pressed but your car will be trying to constantly drive (it doesnt life the two plates apart fully) so most likely stall if youre at a light.
im pretty sure thats correct, but you might wanna check me.
