Carbon, we have PBA cards here that are given out to close friends and family members of cops. Basicially, NY/NJ/CT and most cops in the east honor them. It has the persons name on the back, and then the police officer signs it with his/her shield number and it usually says something like "Please extend all courtesy," or "Family Member" etc. We also have mini-shields which are replicas of our actual shield that can be given out.
If something is written, the cop can always call the officer who will usually void the summons.
