is this a CV Joint issue ?

Pulling out of my drive way, steering complete left while reversing the car, i hear a knocking sound from under the car. Researched a bit, is this a CV Joint issue ?

Is there a DIY article for this... been searching & could not find one...

2002 - LX - 4Dr Sedan - Auto Tran - 1678k miles

Thanks.

Does it make the sound complete left going forward?

Re: is this a CV Joint issue ?

A bad outer CV joint will usually (not necessarily always) make a pop sound or a ratcheting sound that coincides and repeats with each wheel revolution.

Also usually (not necessarily always) it is louder or worse when the wheel is in a tight turn and you are accelerating, as in taking off from a stop (large load on the joint)
