One awesome car...all the more beautiful from behind the wheel. I actually AX'd one during BMW's Ultimate Drive event held at the Texas World Speedway. It's unbelievable how BMW will trust the average joe with their machinery after just one instructor-led class and a couple laps with an instructor behind the wheel...but lucky for those of us w/o the flow

WHy do you think the vette would win?

I think it would be a close race, and here is why:

Corvette-- 3250lbs-- 350Hp

BMW M---- 3100lbs-- 315Hp

Just my thoughts though

I could care less who would win, I know that I would much rather have the BMW M Coupe sitting in my driveway then the Vette.

Faster doesn't mean better.

A New corvette is probably hands down the fast car in all categories for under $100,000. Who cares about speed? I do (unless your an old person usually) Corvettes are know for there speed. Maybe not so much in the style. I could by better looking cars for less then a corvette. You buy a corvette for the speed and the style. The M coupe is nice, but I would have to go with the Vette. The New Z06 is wicked fast and would chew that M -Coupe up and $hit it out

For the cost of the Z06, I could make the M coupe faster than the Vette and it still looks better.

True the Base Model M-Coupe starts at $46,000 while a Vette is $55,000 for the new Z06, but the vette is piece of craftsmanship (Who else can make a car that can compete with the big dogs (i.e Porsche, Ferrari, BMW etc......in fact the Vette is even better then the Z8). IMO the M-Coupe is a waste of money and when I think about it, it is a waste of my brain cells.

in your post you say "(Who else can make a car that can compete with the big dogs (i.e Porsche, Ferrari, BMW etc......in fact the Vette is even better then the Z8). I think BMW canm build a car to compete with BMW. The M-coupe is built by of course BMW who you call a "big dog".

So now for my opinion i think the Corvette is a nice car and an extremely fast car, but the styling is behind and the technology is way behind. But, Like I said this is just my opinion.

The Vette is a fast car, but for practicallity, craftsmanship, and exclusivity i'd much rather have the bimmer. I'd buy a M3 Coupe over the M coupe, but the M coupe is sure rare, and i'd still love to have one. But would i buy a new vette? not unless i already had 5 cars. An M3 is something you can buy and it could be your Daily driver (even your only car). And it'd do fine. Be reliable and fun. and hold together better than the vette.

errrrr.....I disagree.......The M coupe looks good, but the 'vette looks better IMO. I think some of you are a little too biased since it's a domestic. That's just my opinion tho, I probably would still take the M coupe since it's much NICER.

the viper costs 80K and you can get a 400 hp NISMO Skyline GTR imported for 90k.

BMW's are for stuck up losers. They are the Hondas of the alleged "luxury" car world because everyone has one. They even have "entry" level for those that can't afford common sense.

I love my dad's C5. Corvettes can *easily* be modified to outrun every car out there. My dad doesn't modify his, except for cosmetics. Does he or I care if he's faster or slower? We don't give 2 ***** in a can. My dad races on occasion, and beaten every BMW his way so far.

It's not a wagon and if you are too ignorant to realize that a two seat, two door sports car, is not a wagon, then you should just go back to driving your four door economy car and let me go on wanting a BMW M-coupe.

I like vettes. of the two I'd take the vette hands down.

If it came down to it I'd import a skyline.

"BMW's are for stuck up losers"

I hate those type of comments.

If you start type casting, you can't just stop with the BMW or Hondas, it could go with everything.

Hey they're both cool cars and I would gladly take any one of them. I would be wary of a new M3 however because some of their engines have failed prematurely. A Corvette is nice, I would gladly lead a campaign of bringing down the average owner age for them to below 40.

If you have a new Corvette and you're below 40, I'd like to know what kind of illegal drug you're selling, or the rich man's daughter you're screwing, cause I want in! A good, used corvette sells for $15,000 to mid $20's, depending on the year, a lot of people don't know that there's a vette for every price range, that it can be afforded, same goes for any car. A large amount of C4 owners are young, since they cost less than 20k.

Porsche is not a luxury car.

To be fair, a very large amount of Corvette owners are stuck up. I've even had one guy go out of his way to tell me my car is a cheap, grocery-getter that can't pass anything except for a gas station. All I can say is, can you?
