Lightbulb Honda and Me.

When I bought my first honda (2000, DX Hatch 5speed) 4 years ago, I was thrilled. The car was quick enough to putz around town and the valley in. It got me to school with a fuel usage of 34MPG and was a all around nice car. 6mo ago I bought my 03 Civic EX Coupe and before I had 4000 miles on it, it had a new pair of shoes and socks (rims and tires). Overall I am happy with my car, but recently I have been dissappointed by the pickup of the car. I know what I bought, a civic, 100whp. I know.
I have come to the realization that my civic is slow, dependable but slow. I must say though I have been spoiled in the past few weeks. As some of you might know my father owns a 2000 Corvette Z06. He has been pretty nice about me driving it also. So here I am driving around town in a 400Hp car loving every second of it. I am not a ***** about it though, I have only semi-raced it once and I did not start it.
A 91 or so civic hatch pulled up next to me. He started reving his engine and I tried not to notice. I glanced over and reved the corvette. Green light hits and I accelerate slow at first. I must say that I cannot handle this car, it is way too fast and I am not used to it. I punch it after the civic gets about a car length on me, there was no competition. I cut it off after 80mph. That kill is without me trying too hard. I was shifting slow, being nice to the clutch.
So here I am now, 22 years old and I have the speed bug. Here is my resolution. I am a full time student and I don't make a lot of money. I would buy a turbo, but I think I am going to wait till it is street legal and approved. I tell you though, as soon as I make a nice amount of income, I will buy a Z06.

Until then I love my dependable civic.

FIN
end - rave.

Hey.. if you have the money then get the ZO6... Everyone wants to be fast now or later on. Me I'd like my little econobox. Gets be nice milage when i do drive her. Unlike the beast of a truck (V8) that i drive everyday for work. Wow i looked at the gas tabs each month... it would burn a pretty big hole in my pocket.

For speed.. I'd probably get me a luxury car in the future when I got enough money. Till then, I'm happy with what I got.

Economy (in terms of gasoline consumption) + speed + handling = Lotus Elise
