BMW Z5 (M Coupe successor)

BMW is actually doing something right for a change. If you take a second and metally block the exterior of all their cars, you see they're bringing back the 6-series, which is a great thing, because since they killed off the 850's, a luxury coupe has always been missing from the BMW lineup.

And now they're not only bringing a sequel to the already badass M Coupe, they're making the formula more hardcore. (which is something you never see these days). Usually cars get more bloated, bigger, more room, more sound proofing, more weight. Well the original M Coupe formula was Light, RWD, Stiff.

Well take a step in the right direction and make the M Coupe 2200 lbs this time around. That way the same 3.0 Liter I-6 225 hp will combine to put its power/weight ratio somewhere between a Supra Twin Turbo and a C5 Corvette.

Given the fact that one can fit a 3.0 Inline 6 in that engine bay, I wouldn't doubt that they could also shoehorn the M Coupe's 315 hp powerplant in there as well... But that's getting ahead of ourselves.

Anyways, here's the article:

I don't give a damn how ugly this **** is, anything that's 2200 lbs and 200+ hp is straight up badass.

The computer-generated image above of the Z5 is based on photographs of the prototypes caught testing.

The BMW Z5 will combine features from the stunning new BMW Z4 roadster, which South Africans can expect to see on the Auto Africa Motor Show in October.

BMW is making sure that this new super coupe will give cars like the next generation Porsche 911 a run for its money.

According to rumours the Z5 will be build largely of aluminium and therefore the car will weigh less than a 1 000kg. This performance car will feature technology like the M3's sequential gearbox.

It will probably have the same engine range as its roadster sibling, which will be available with two high-torque six-cylinder power units.

The BMW Z4 will be available with a 3.0-litre 170 kW engine with a top speed of 250 km/h. A 2.5-litre unit will also be available which produces 141 kW and have a maximum speed of 235 km/h.

I ******* swear I HATE chinky shaped headlights. And why does it have to be smiling? I wish they kept the square grill look. Other than that it looks hot!

Love the deep dish!
