Changed My AEM CAI
Dear All
I have living in a tropical climate without winter seasons.
I have my CAI installed for 4 months, still worried about floods and heavy rain, So I removed the lower section of the AEM CAI and put the filter on top to become a SRI.
Many said, SRI power for high RPM and CAI power for lower RPM.
But, I felt just slight more power now the SRI than my CAI,
Could it be the short airintake , thus faster sucking in the air. Although , now the air is very hot, cos near the engine bay, but does it does a big difference by lowering it to the CAI, cos is still quite hot there.
Thanks for any Expert Advise

If it's already super hot out like it is here in FL then its not goign to really matter where you place the intake anyways. With the temps here around 90 degrees I run mid 16s compared to my 15s in the summer. If its already hot, might as well make it a short ram with the rain factor and all its probaby best to leave it an SRI. Don't know why it seems faster though, I have yet to move mine but I'll let you knwo when i do.
It doesn't matter what temp it is outside. Your engine bay hotter than Satan 's day off. SRI, CAI, whatever, it's still sucking hot air. Unless they come out with an icebox for our car or you remove the throttle bottle heater, your intake will always run hot. A constant supply of cold air would be better, but in all actuality it doesn't increase horsepower noticeably. An intake improves efficiency. Lukewarm air is better than that plastic thing Honda calls an intake.

Wow... thanks to all very good advise and explanation.
The intake do make slight difference from the thin stock intake. True.
So, is confirm hot or cold air doesn't really matter much.
Furthermore, the short ram allows you to take it out easier and clean it. So for those who intend to buy intake then is advisable to buy short ram!
Cost lesser, no water sucking in problem...
