Yupp need help after rebuild.

Ok guys need a couple suggestions on what to check. First off my wifes car is a 97 integra ls b18b1 and been sittin for bout 8 months and I have rebuilding it. I had to take off the head and rebuild it. I put a new headgasket on it. I put the car together and everything timing is perfect everything hooked up right as I kno. Started it up yesterday for the first time and cranked up and let it run to get the oil flowin good and ran good. Went to drive it home cause was at a friends and got halfway home and stopped at a stop sign and it wouldn't go anywhere. When I give it gas it dies but will crank right up rev low at first but then rise up to normal. It is low on gas also.

Now I think that it might be low fuel pressure, bad gas, or something. I am going to check the vacuum hoses, take valve cover off to check and see if oil flowed good to the head, put gas in it, check sensors and stuff. Anyone have any ideas on wat is up.

Re: Yupp need help after rebuild.

Come on guys someone has to kno something. Does obd2 valves, springs work in a obd0 head. Cause I had a obd2 head took the valves out and put them in a obd0 head. Maybe they don't work cause they might not seal right or something. I torqued the head studs down right but we checked the compression and 4th cylinder was 150, 3rd cylinder 140, 2nd cylinder 120, and 1st cylinder 110. Now the head gasket I put on it is probably blown, but got a warranty on it. Now maybe the head was warped or something, needs a resurface. Some one throw some suggestions out

Re: Yupp need help after rebuild.

The head being warped is really the only thing I can think of besides the obd2 valves not workin in a obd0 head but I really don't think that's it. I took the cams out and checked the head studs and was still torqued down to the right specs. I took off the head and checked the gasket if it had a good seal and it didn't looked like it sealed good so the only thing I can think of is that head is warped which is causing the compression to be low on 2 cylinders. I got that obd0 head for free so really didn't hurt me any. Only thing I think I could do now is swap the valves back into the other head I have a try it out

wish i could help bro, good luck. ps love you avatar pic =D. any chance you didn't tighten or clip something in all the way and it vibrated out? once i had a half clipped sparkplug and it started fine but then died witha horrible sound. i'd say to check all hoses and clips again even if they look tight.

Re: Yupp need help after rebuild.

You need to check the ECU for codes to see if it's throwing one. Even if the head gasket is not sealing properly the car should start unless it's so bad the cylinders are getting flooded with coolant. Get the head checked out for trueness and your codes read is where I'd start.
