It's a B20B. It's got 146hp @ 6200 RPM and 133 ft lbs of torque @ 4500 RPM. Honda Motors Online or Jdm Honda Parts dot com has them.

It all depends on which CRV engine he is talking about actually. If he's talking about the new 2002 CRV engine, it's the K24A1 and you're right, it DOES produce 160hp@6000 RPM and 162 ft lbs of torque at 3600 RPM. If he's talking about the older CRV engine's, it's the B20B with 146 hp @ 6200 and 133 ft lbs of torque @ 4500 RPM

But, considering it's still an SUV, no matter how small an SUV, what is there to substantiate the possibility that it would fit in our cars?

None of those engines will fit in our cars. SLiCKGreeK said that he knew that they wouldn't fit. He said he heard of people looking for those engines. Which ever one that may be.

I'm not sure about the new K-series CRV engine, but the older 2.0L B-series CRV engines wouldn't fit into a Civic or Integra engine bay properly. The top of the motor sticks out which makes it impossible to close your hood.

That's part of the reason why most people go for the Frankenstein B18C5/B18C1/B16A2 head + B20 block engines.

The 2002 CRV has the same engine as the RSX. The older ones won't fit in our car. But the new one should.

Juggaman will become famous soon enough
Isn't the new CR-V built on the Civic frame? I'm not sure since I'm not a huge fan, but I think I heard that somewhere. I think in the future (as with everything else) it will be possible.

so if it is based upon the rsx engine, it could possibly fit in our cars and pump out 160 horses? That isnt too bad....has any1 even looked into it or even thaught about that kind of swap???????

The new crv's engine is a little bigger than the RSX engine, and I would also like to know if it will fit our cars.
RSX= 2.0L
CRV= 2.4L

isn't the k24 block just a stroked k20 block? that'd explain the torque difference

Yes it is. They are the same engine one is stroked to a 2.4. Potentually the CRV engine will fit in the 7th gen civic but, one problem you may run into is that as far as I know the CRV is all wheel drive. This may make for some drivetrain problems with the swap. Same as you can't take components from the RSX and put them in the civic you can't take them from the CRV either. So with all these things it is possible but may be difficult.

since the k24 spins the same way and has the same bolt pattern, it should mount right in...

edit: mount right in an rsx setup that is not in our civvies w/o work
