No engine specifically really. My friend and I were discussing why do certain cars have higher RPM's.

Depends of the engine, if the engine make peak power at 7000 rpm and you set the redline to 10000 then its useless. But race engines like the Formula one cars are specially designed to make a lot of power at like 10000+ rpm because they race at very high speeds.
