Did you check with the shop if it comes standard with seatbelt, catalytic converter, and meets US Emissions? If not its gonna sit in customs for a loooonng time, i know this because remember motorex? they sold a bunch of fake agreements and contracts to a bunch of people who wanted to get 99 and 2002 Skyline GTR34s but then the feds came in and got them on emissions. My father's friend bought a 1996 Skyline GTR33 and he had to pay alot of extra money for "Fees" and "taxes" but we really know what that went to-- (governor corzine's medical bill)

the Skyline is already in Canada, to even get to this shop ALL his cars have to be inspected (Air care, Safety, etc....)

anyway a turbo car. puts out 212. and he is talking it up like its the greatest thing. thats not so good. there is people on here and other forums making 260+ with turbo on the d17 engine which was called "the motor that doesn't respond to mods well" now i understand thats just bolt ons. but 212 is nothing. my car stock comes with 270 and I'm not riding in no skyline or evo or sti. what ever id rather have my 7g over this car. i will NEVER buy a car that has been modded before. i don't know about anyone else here. but that just spells headaches to me. someone else ****ed it up and wanted nothing to do with it so he sold it. i just cant get over the fact that he sold a reliable car for this piece. why not have both if he is as successful as he says. whatever

lol...that was me. i didn't understand why he wanted to waste time by importing a old engine that they dont even make anymore. When he can just buy a 270-290hp vq35 engine thats already in NA and he can parts for easily.

you can buy vq35's on ebay for $4k and the engine kit is around $900.

Why is everyone being such an ******* to this guy? I mean the way he is going about buying the car is pretty crazy (like not stoping by to see the car at least once or twice. having this thread with no pictures. not buying a gtr. etc..), but by no means does that give anyone the right to treat him like ****. All he is doing is sharing his experience about buying a skyline with you guys and you automatically start flaming him. haha yea i got my vq swap out of a rearended g35. its great. im glad i did it. even tho my orig motor had 250 and now 270 but still fun. i got mine fully installed for 3k all said and done. and this guy is spending so much more money for so much less power. and not to mention the car is an eyesore.
i should just start posting both my swaps on this thread. lol i have TONs of pics unlike this assclown. lol

To be completely fair, I'm not sure where you got the April '05 date from. He did use the word "April" a few pages back, but said nothing about the year 2005. He traded in his 8th gen civic for this car. Think, son.

quick backround......had a stock altima motor pre cats broke up and sucked up into the motor. nissan wanted 8k for new motor.
so i got my motor guy who did the new motor in my em2 and i told him to get a g35 vq so he got it out of a g coupe. and basicly took everything needed to be FWD from my motor and put it on the new one. like i said its only 20 more hp but every little bit helps lol better than 212.

even though i think the VQs are damn good motors and all, i still for some reason have a thing for I6 engines?
back in the day when i owned Datsun 240z/260z/280z were just awesome!!
that and they were so easy to work on however, yea...i agree the RB engines are old and hard to get parts but they are out there regardless. And as much as its already not stock anymore atleast it still carries the I6 and not some V6. Besides the Turbo , SMIC, BOV, etc thats already on my engine now, I dunno....just my opinion?

why dont you turbo a vq. think of the possibilities then. starting from a 270hp platform would give you so much more hp.
