Accidents & Upgrades FTW

Well you guys about a few hrs ago. Some stupid B**tch swerved over into my lane without looking. I tried to dodge her. But i would have meet the curb. I was just enter the on ramp to a freeway. She was really close but I did not feel a bump of the cars. So I got off at the next exit to look at the car. Low and behold! I can a nice scratch on my car. Its on the "MOLDING-PROTECTOR" i'm assuming its called...picture example below.

Its not major. BUT I get pissed everytime i look at it. Well anyway i was wondering if parts number#19,16,17 here are the right ones to get it replaced.

In other news I have narrowed my selection of things i would like to upgrade on my stock. Civ01blacksedan. After much assessment of searching the forums.

The rims that i am thinking about getting are Motegi riax gloss black or motegi ff7z wheels.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/17-MO...QQcmdZViewItem

The tires will be Toyo Proxes 4 Tires 205/40/17 or 215/45/17<---------will the 215 fit my car?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT

and depending on what the wheels look like on the car. I might give it a drop with Eibach Sportlines....I just want about a 1" drop. LA streets are pretty savage. It's like a race course just driving to work.

I can see that the rims that i want, some people like motegi and some don't. But they are around my price range. I've checked around and the Prox 4z tires and they seem to be a great deal for great tires. so it has come down to this.

Anyway i have a couple of questions. 1)If i do get the lowering springs. Is there anything else that i will need for the lower. Or rather is there anyting that i might need that will pop up if i take it to the shop to have it installed. I have searched the forums but I can't seem to find a solid answer 2)Are the rims and wheels that i will be purchasing seperatly be a problem? I have a place that can mount them for me. Just wanna make sure they will fit(just double checking)

Unfortuanly i took some nasty pictures with the digi camera that never came out. But i put together a little bit of photoshop razzel dazzel to get an idea. If you see your car being used i hope ya don't mind. I just need to get a general idea. This website is great, the forums have a ton of knewledge to share, for a noob like me. Any opnions, help, suggestions would be great.

MOTEGI RIAX

MOTEGI FF

P.S. Sorry for the novel

depending on ride comfort you may want to go for the 215/45/17. it is a thicker sidewall and will give a better ride. on another note the sportline spring are more like a 2" drop. if you want 1" go for the eibach prokits. that is what i have. they will work good with stock shocks. i have about a 1 finger gap with a 225/40/18. so you will have about the same gap with a 215/45/17. you willl end up needing a camber kit at least for the rear if you dont want to eat up your tires. and as long at the rims a not wider than 7" 7.5" is pushing it you will be fine. also remember the llug pattern is 4x100

you should have posted this in the members ride section. wouldnt the lady have knocked out your mirror before hitting the molding? i dunno. i have 215/45/17 so they will fit and i would recommend them over the 205/40/17 cuz i bent my rim with the 215/45 so 205/40 wouldnt stand a chance.

yeah it was really bizarre cause when i looked over my shoulder she was right there. What i think happened was that when she saw that i was right there. she braked made a quick move away from me... panicked....BUT when i saw here go away from my car. the idiot that she was swerved back toward my car. That is when i think she just grazed my car. So by that time the front of her car was right near my driver side rear door.

Thanks for the insight fellas. I will go with the 215/45z sense they come so highly recommended. Hey familycar did you mean make sure they are not wider that 7" 7.5"? Here is what the buyer says on ebay

SPECIFICATIONS:

* Size: 17" x 7"
* Bolt Pattern: 4 on 100, and 4 on 4.5(114.3)
* Offset: +42mm

thx again fellas
