GM underated the power on the SS colbalt.. Its a sweet performance buy for the money. 205hp stock and for 750 dallors you get a factory upgrade that cranks out 245hp backed by GM.
the average buy price for the colbalt SS new is 19,500
IN THAT CASE
Its cheaper to buy a colbalt SS than to swap your civic! ohh ya, it would still blow a k20 away
6.1 secounds 0-60 stock and with the stage II upgrade your looking to run in the 5 secounds with very low 14's in the quarter.
Now the bad part!!
Cheap dash, cheesy *** wing and dated exterior styling....sucky resale as with all american cars as well! The suspension is horrid as well!

You are right on the underrated power. Here's a buddy that had his dynoed.

First run: 212.0 FWHP / 189.8 FWTQ
2nd run: 215.4 FWHP / 191.9 FWTQ
3rd run: 216.3 FWHP / 190.9 FWTQ

This was done on a dynojet, weather was about 50 degrees farenheit.
