SUPERCHARGER!!!
Will they ever make a supercharger for a 5-Speed 2k2 civic EX Coupe, I emailed Jackson Racing and they replied :
Sorry we will not be making a supercharger for the new 1.7L engine
So it made me depressed cuz my car has only 127hp, then i decided to email them again with a different email address. I got the same reply.
Then I got an idea, if alot of us email them asking for the supercharger, they will think it's in demand for our car and actually might develop one. What do you think? Help guys! email them at jacksonracing@mossmotors.com ....I hope they'll change their minds.
Also I have not yet asked Comptech if they are gonna develope one but I hope so cuz they just finished with a supercharger for a 98-02 Accord v6 LX. It will not make sense if they dont make one for a civic.

Yeah, it would be nice for you guys, but chances are they wont either. The new engine isnt really that mod friendly, or atleast it wont be for another couple of years like the b series engines. Sooner or later though, companies will prolly have heads, pistons, turbos, cams, and whatnot. Just give them some time.

I'm not too crazy about Jackson Racing SCs anymore... I think they have gone soft for the sake of reliability (not a bad thing at all).. and recent Focus ZX3 equippied with JRSC scored a depressing 0-60mph in 8.5s.......... and a low 16s 1/4 mile slip. Not a big improvement over stock at all... but still costs a fortune.
1.7L motors are still relatively new to the market, so eventually parts will come out. I think manufactors know there is a demand for more power in the 7th Gen coupes/sedans, but the only thing holding them back is being overshowed Honda's 2.0L engine family.. the RSX and Civic Si. They are more performance orientied and if they make a part for Civic Si, it can most likely be easily converted for base RSX as well.
I think within a year, we will see forced induction kits in the market...

hey Blk4blk2k1,
I was thinking about getting a aem cai too! Do you feel some difference in torque? stronger or weaker? Cuz I had a CAI for my old 94 accord 4-door ex and it felt slower in the low rpm's but stronger at the highs.

YOU SURE CAN!!! AMEN!
alright... i dont know if this has been discussed before but.... here's my $.02... get a turbocharger!
i have asked a few knowledgeable people on the supercharger vs. turbocharger debate and here is what i have learned...
super gives you more power at low rpm's and all the way up through high rpms you will have a lot more hp
turbo on the other hand, you will start out like normal, but when you get to higher rpms you get an enormous boost, a lot more than you will ever get from a supercharger at the top end
with our small engines, turbo will beat super

and besides that... you will not need to petition for a turbocharger Because it has already come out
and that will put pressure on major companies (hks... greddy...etc...) to come out with turbo for our cars
3200 dollars (and when other companys come out with tc's prices will drop) is well worth 60-70 horsepower in my mind

I feel somewhat of a difference, but really I think it's all in my head. If their is any gain, I don't think it's really noticeable.. I could be wrong.
And yes I have emailed Jackson Racing.

<< reason why i dont want turbocharger is becasue its not as reliable as supercharger! I'm not gonna burn $18k for nothing, im not rich! >>
8psi on a turbocharger is no less reliable than 8psi on a supercharger when it comes to your engine.

Ummm, what are putting under your hood that is going to cost $18,000 ????
Anyone willing to put $2,000+ under the hood of a 2001 Civic has issues. If you are that desperate for a high performance machine, just save for something with more potential...anything with more than 3 liters of displacement and reasonable curb weight. I know a lot of you guys have done some serious mods and are thoroughly convinced you are the proud owners of race cars, but I've heard a much larger portion of you confess that a Civic is not a TransAm or Mustang GT. You just don't know the embarassment you will suffer if you try to race a 2000 Pontiac TransAm (which costs about as much as our cars did when they were new). Why do I not own a TransAm? 1) I already have 2 speeding tickets from previous car and cannot afford the insurance, 2) the gas mileage sucks and I often travel, 3) they are extremely noisy inside when cruising and it makes it hard to listen to anything on the stereo system, 4) I cannot stand how cramped they feel. If you have plenty of cash and want a high performance machine that is more hospitable and dependable, get a BMW or Mercedes. Just my two cents.

BMW? Dependable? lol.
Sometimes it's not always about getting the car that will get us in a straight line as fast as we can go. So you say if you are going to take a civic for 18000 and add a turbocharger for 3000, that for the same price, you can get a used trans am that will be about as fast.... ok... then why stop there? why not get an old civic or mustang for 5000 and mod the hell out of it.... in fact, while we're at it, why don't we get a broken neon for 100 bucks and mod the hell out of that with the other 20,900 I have left over.... Get my point?
You get what car you want, because, well... it's the car you want. So what if someone wants to mod it and make it faster... it's fun, it's a hobby, and we like it. Nice feeling when your 7th gen civic sleeper just handed a mustang it's *** cuz you got a turbo. But that same race would be much more boring to you if you had a POS trans am. Get my point again?
