Yes I am using a fuel additive to boost Californian 91 octane to 97-98 but it is not a normal octane booster. It is race only NOS octane booster only legal for the track that also contains nitromethane. 60 points = 6 full numbers and this is at 16 gallons. The si's tank is 13.2. O, and yes I am taking advantage of the high octane fuel with hondata. I have completely eliminated the knocks that I had before using 91 octane.

umm so whats the point of runing that ummm 97-98 octane.. It does jack crap, unless you need it.. which you probably dont.. Sure you may have a hondat, but that wouldnt meen change your fule.. You bring you compression ratio to oh 12:1? or did you drop it to ohh 9:4:1 and turbo it? i dought it.. lol bassically your loosing hp trying to burn that extra octane.. your engine is only designed for a certain octane, you use higer than that it has to work harder to burn it. sooo.. tell me once again why your running it?

every report i've ever read from chemical analysis shows that nos and other octane boosters give between .7-1.1 points increase in octane. you're not getting a 6 point boost from NOS octane booster. did you test the gas yourself? didn't think so.

if he has advanced the timing using the K-Pro, it can take advantage of higher octane fuel such as 92-94 octane. but he's still not running 97 octane.

Not really interested in arguing with you about octane points any more. The fact is that I used to knock on 91 octane with a reasonably safe tune. Now with the octane booster I havent gotten 1 knock or ping whatsoever and I am running a fairly aggresive tune.

The point I was trying to make in the beginning is that the si is great car. You either love it or hate it.

I know.. and that was my point. No way in hell will a stock ep3 take an s2000. I was just trying to point that out to the one saying that they eat ep3s for breakfast in an EX, therefore, ep3s suck and are slow.

Ehh this thread needs to die, but I'm bored.

I can appreciate the car for what it is. I test drove it a couple years back. Although it doesn't have the extra kick you'd expect over an EX, and it does weigh a bit more, the K series engine has alot more potential and the suspension and chassis are a bit stiffer. I'd expect it to fair pretty well in an auto-x event, and I like the shifter and the seats. They look pretty slick with the OEM kit and wheels.

I think those of you who "hate" this car or that car really need to take a step back and try to see cars for what they can do and not for what they can't. Last I checked this is an enthusiasts' website...and last I checked enthusiasts don't "hate" a certain brand or model. That shows immaturity and ignorance. Grow up.
