I know its been talked about several times before, but i must admit i am very unimpressed. For all that extra money you get practically no more power. I was unimpressed by my test drive in one, and tongiht i was racing one, and had little trouble keeping up and passing him with just bolt-ons(i/h/e and spark plugs). For a car that costs so much more, its just not nearly worth the money.

yeah teh K block is capable of much more than our D blocks. But the one in the SI is still not the power producer you would expect from an SI. Had they put -A2 head instead of the -A3 head it would definitely be a much better car all around IMO.

Esp. not w. the 16.6 1/4mi. time you have posted in your sig.
The K isn't just a better block, its more easily modable, slap on a CAI, header and KPro onto the Si and it suddenly get a helluva lot faster.

if everyone else who has put on intake and exhaust has gotten maybe 5hp, you aren't going to just magically get 30hp on your car.

and the stock crank on your civic is forged and could likely handle over 500 whp.

o yeah, i didnt mean that my car is fast or anything. plus i forgot to say that the person prob sucked at driving. But i not a bad driver myself.
Also i raced a 2000 si on my way home from florida on 95 and he didnt go anywhere. i was right next to him. and he had i/e. i raced another one here i nj and i had him by a foot. but still close. i like close raced. this way you dont mid lossing. lol.
no turbo either, i just had intake, header, no cat, no res, 2 1/2 piping, pulleys and cam gear.

I have a couple of issues with the current Si...
1. Shape (Personal preferance)
2. Weight... its almost as heavy as the RSX-S...
3. Electric assist steering rack (its really wierd feeling when driving neer the cars limits)
4. Did I mention its weight?
any way, its not a bad car... its just not what people expected. But like I said, my biggest problem is with its weight, seriously. They add what 50 HP over the Ex right? and then they add some 200+ LBS... hardly worth the added power. Then again, weight hinders handling alot more then acceleration.
Oh ya.... I havent been beaten by an Si either

the ep3 si is probably the ugliest hatch i have ever seen, it should be called the Minivan Coupe. and im pretty sure a modded em2 can take an si, unless it is running K-pro and other mods. all in all, i'd much rather have a 7th gen and swap a k20a, but who wouldnt?

EP3's are no problem...hell even with boltons its still a drivers race. once they get hondata...then they start walking. the extra wieght almost negates the hp increase.
Yeah I agree with the shape. it's the ugliest thing I have seen honda make in a long time. The si ranks among the ugliest next to the Honda Element. Now that is ugly. I love my 7th gen ex, but also wouldnt mind dropping in a K20a2 or k20a type r

the previous gen Si's are not only faster, but probably respond to mods even better. i/e can give upwards of 10whp or so on the 6th gen Si. my 6th gen Si gained 9.7hp and 8lb/ft torque from i/e.

doesn't 2000 si plus vortech supercharger give 275hp? anyway, stock si has 140whp, your civic ex has maybe 110whp if you're lucky. thats not very close.
