over the weekend, i was about to make a right on red off a side street when i notice an older car bouncing up and down as it came over the hill to my left. he was going a good 10-15 above the speed limit, so i just waited til he passed and then went, i was a little tired still.

down the road a 1/4 mile or so, i start coming up on him. i found this weird, since he was in such a rush before. i ID the car as a older pontiac bonneville, not the boxy one but the first kind that had a rounded look. so probably very early 90's. as soon as i get to his rear bumper, i hear his car accelerate down the road, at an unimpressive rate of speed. curiosity got the best of me, so i just punched it in 4th and caught up around the next light.

i looked over not sure if i somehow pissed him off or what, and he has this goofy *** grin (45ish year old guy with thick glasses, in hindsight maybe drunk at 2 in the afternoon) and the first words are "i paid $50 for this thing" then he made random comments quietly so i'd hear but not get too pissed like "i sell mufflers like that for $5" finally he gets an even goofier grin and says "i'll race you" i said 'i'll pound you " and we stopped talking finally

light turns, i let him go a little bit, i don't launch, but i want to be sure he starts with the lead. as soon as he's about 2/3 a car in front, i punch it, i-vtec hits right when i'm at his window (i have a hole in my exhaust, it is kinda loud right now), i short shifted at 7k rpms with 1/2 a car, go to 2nd and get another car almost instantly (maybe he backed down?) but i had to hit the brakes since there was a car in front of me. he went past, stuck out the thumbs up and made a quick turn so i couldn't return the favor/see his face
