N20 Mustang vs Mach 1

Sup everyone...thought I would share this story with you guys! My buddy picked me up today for Lunch becuase it has been a long week and he was trying to get my mind off of stuff. Anyhow, he drives an 02 GT Mustang, mods done are (just quoting the jest...not exactly sure on everything) upper intake plenum hard piped with K&N filter, Headers, Exhaust (3") straight pipe, NX Wet Kit jetted to 100, Timing changes, and some other goodies! We came across a Mach 1 who was revving at us...obvious mods on the Mach 1 were exhaust!

First encounter was odd...opened the bottle (fresh refill) right at 900lbs...squeezed from a roll and the Mach 1 either miss shifted or wasnt ready because we pulled him by three car lengths....my buddy looked surprised...

Second encounter 40mph roll...flipped switch and watched the Mach 1 pull the hell out of us like we were standing still....by third he had a car length...4th he had about 3...shut it down and slowed down....

Third and final encounter...off the line...got him at a light...it was obvious this guy was having a good time...big *** grin like a cheeseball...took off from the line and again we got smoked...kept up a little after the tire burn, but all in all he killed us!!

Cliff notes: Modded 02 GT N20 100 Shot got spanked by a Mach 1, exhaust other mods unknown!!

he had a HELL of a lot more than an exhaust. my guess is he easily had some form of FI.

stock for stock, a Mach 1 is barely faster than an 02 GT.

He was whining a bit...Supercharger maybe...to be honest it was so loud between the cars it was hard to tell...when he revved at the line you could hear a whine!!!

I definately agree he had more done than just exhaust, but Mach 1's are capable of LOW 13's @ 105+ bone stock, so they're more than "barely faster than an 02 GT."
