my friend just got a fluidyne radiator for his supra TT and he had to get a separate oil cooler. anyway, he told me to get one too and that it would be beneficial to my car. any opinions about this statement?

Rep Power: 0 I want one too. One for oil and one for tranny fluid.
Mostly because I'm thinking of getting a turbo and I have an auto tranny, so I think they would both help (keep engine cooler and keep tranny cooler.)

Rep Power: 0 it's not going to do jack for your car. with turbo or if you planned on doing some towing it would be doing something. oil is designed for regular engine temp, that's when it works best.
if you just like working on your car, get it. won't hurt anything, but it is another place for a possible leak.

Rep Power: 0 Hondas are great for keeping the engine temp the same all the time, ever notice that your temp gauge doesnt more (when the car is hot it should stay in the same place) Honda engineers didnt sit there for years to figure out that you need to buy an aftermarket oil cooler....your fan comes on and off on and off to keep the temp constant. Keeping it constant helps to oil to last a lot longer cause its always at the same temp it breaks down less!

Rep Power: 0 Kinda off topic but I saw a 94 civ that had never had an oil change....not the car mind you, the actualy cylinder walls and pistons...so much build up and deterioration. teh motor blew and was being rebuilt.
