i need experienced help.
i need experienced help.
ok since it's a new car.. it needs new setup for drag racing. i have an auto ex. why auto? because my mom drives it. i dont need turbo because im not a race a holic. i need NITROUS. other than that i need some go power for my civic. ne set up suggestions? like i said experienced so all u wannabe street racers shut up. personally this is my first civic. before.. i had a s13 silvia conversion. i ran turbo and nitrous. the motor was already powerful but the boost made it win more. so guys, i need a list of most important shist to go fast on a quarter mile. for now no internal engine mods.
hey u r that guy pumpin the yellow s14 in quuens? i have a yellow eclipse with white rims i think i raced u on Francis Lewis blvd last month. well anyways back to the 2k1 ...well since the 2k1 ia a n/a car there isn't much u can do intake, header and exhaust will only give u around 8-10hps max...since u have v-tec u can get a vtech controller to get your v-tec to come on early (lower the rpm where the v-tec kicks in) and those $hits look cool. then u can change your cams later on those help 2..but a lot of work. like u said jsut get the NOS that will fix everything....what if your mom uses the NOS by mistake while she is driving...
I don't want to come off sounding mean or anything but honestly is this a joke? The 7th gen civic for drag purposes isn't the best selection, an auto only compounds the problem, and you're just wanting NOS? Straight from the Honda website a 2002 EX model only produces 127hp@6300RPM add NOS to that and you're looking at anywhere from 25hp and up, but when you go up you'll have to reinforce the engine to handle anything over about 200hp. To be effective in drag racing even if it's on the weekends you'll need 200+hp at the wheels to win decently. MIND you I said win decently because there are drivers who can win running just stock if they're that good and the other guy is that bad. If you're also dragging multiple times in a day and you're using NOS each run your engine is going to blow a hundred times faster than normal usage. Remember you're amplifying the explosion process in the engine and that's putting excess pressure on the block which is designed to handle only so much pressure for a certian amount of time. If that's not enough you're also putting NOS into an automatic transmission. Automatic's are set up to change gears based upon an internal regulator, by kicking NOS into the system there's a chance you can blow the regulator and can set the planetary gear out of synch. It's pretty unlikely but there are times where it has happened and it's also very expensive to replace an automatic transmission.
So, in conclusion go buy back your silvia and keep racing that...

I would probably get a custom turbo kit that'll pump about 6-9 psi (something small) and run nitrous right alongside the turbo. Also, get pulleys, cam, cam gear, titanium valve springs, update ignition coils, iridium spark plugs, new fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator, intake, exhaust, headers, high flow cat, upgraded torque converter, and thats about it.
Ya, it sounds like a lot, but that's what your gonna need if you really wanna drag.

brairos wut u are saying is true...but isn't there a guy on this site with a lx auto that has NOS in it? he also got the greddy exhaust (cause he took a huge @ss pic of his muffler telling every 1 letting everybody no its a greddy)
how many runs does he make a day? if you're using for say just one pass then fine have at it, but if you're wanting to compete at an amateur level let's say you're talking 5-8 runs in one day and you're doing that 4 times a month think how much stress the engine takes in that month. Many people only think short term, but it's the long term that will get you.
Oh and also depending on where you live the size of your NOS can get you a nice traffic ticket too if you're caught with it in the vehicle at the time of being pulled over regardless if it's hooked up or not.

true...but i dun see the point to use it to pass a car ( depends wut kinda car it is) if its a turbo charged u will pass them but they will pass u in a few seconds when the turbo kicks in so...it really depends who u are messing with
Not to sound rude, but is your mommy going to let you put NOS on her car? I think she will notice!!
like i said... experienced help.. thanks for responses.. but now the part we all missed.. im only gonna do joy runs in the bronx so under 200 im ok with.. i just want the most boost power on our car in a quarter mile.. injen cold or ram? header or stock? exhaust or just change the muffler. tighten cable or leave it.. cuz i got one big advantage.. my car is already lighter than stock.. like i mean i pulled a lot of shist out.. list people pls..
for joy rides okay here you go on an auto EX a RAM intake shows a higher gain, headers will always help, as for exhaust it's a little gain but not much so it's up to you, and tighten the cable if you want. Just remember these are new on the racing market so not everything has been fully tested so don't ask how much specific gain because quite honestly you'll get fifty different answers. Also if you're spending this much money go ahead and get the Jet reprogram on the ECU to handle all the upgrades after you make them.
