Honda Accord V6 Hybrid this Fall
if it's a V6 hybrid. then that's awesome. that means it will retain the 240hp V6 driving the front wheels, and when you need added kick another 75hp or something and lots of torque to the rear wheels. There are 2 kinds of hybrids, Fuel efficient, and added performance. Take the new Hybrid Highlander thats coming out. same engine plus hybrid.

You would never make your money back on fuel driving a hybrid vehicle.
In Canada, the Hybrid Civic is like $10,000 more if I remember correctly. There is no break on insurance. The fuel economy is better but it would take the average commuter a decade to earn their money back IF, and this is a big **** of an IF, the hybrid components dont fail. AFAIK, the battery for thoes things are worth over 5 grand and nobody knows if they will even last. Who knows if parts will even be available for these cars.
These cars are a novely. A small step in the evolution of the automobile. People buying them now are buying them for moral reasons or as mere toys. They arent practical, they arent a good investment at all.

Here's my problem with hybrid cars... they mostly look like crap. The Civic Hybrid looks ok, but I'm not into the look of the Civic sedan really. The rest of them look like pansy cars. Why not make a Civic hybrid coupe or something that wouldn't be embarassing to drive?

Civic DX/Value Package - $13,410 DX-$13,010 Value Package-$14,410
Civic HX - $13,710
Civic LX - $15,160 $15,360
Civic EX - $16,860 $17,260
Civic Si - $19,070
Civic Hybrid - $19,650
sedan prices are the ones in bold

Young kids care about how a car looks. The majority of car buyers aren't into modding and performance, so if the car looks good, I think more younger people would be inclined to buy them.

Wow... hmmm... Interesting.
I'm pretty sure the Civic was reliable because they got rid of most of the early problems/concerns when Honda introduced the Insight.

glad to see a lot of you guys are concerned with moving foward so we don't have to depend on Foreign oil and high gas prices, when we could be refueling on Hydrogen and Fuel Cells. Gas powered engines will always be around, but that doesn't mean technology can't move past them to a more cleaner bill of health. Sure the Pruis and Insight look like crap to most people, but the new Prius is considered a FULL SIZED car, not an econobox anymore. The Civic Hybrid is civic coupe with 4 doors, making it a sedan. It can't look that much more hideous than the car you are driving now, especially with its nicer front bumper and interior gauges.
im in the process of buying the new '04 civic sedan. i dont like the back on the coupe for 7th generation civic coupes. not only that, its much less of a hassle getting your friends / little cousins / random crap out the back seat of a sedan.
for the previous concept of the new accord, the closest concept that i know of is: http://hondanews.com/forms/honda/con...honda/concepts(directory)***.ws4d?honda/concepts/results(r)_JPG.html

eh... sorry about that, try here: http://4hs.org//pv/2003/11/04/HON2003110449423_pv.jpg
Just to backup my price claim:
Civic LX Sedan....$19,500.00 Canadian
Civic Hybrid.........$28,500.00 Canadian
Prices are MSRP before applicable taxes. When your all said and done its close to 10,000 more. I suppose it is all about demand. I assumed it was the same in the states but I was wrong. I guess the Canadian buyers are being shafted.
