IDQcivic should not be trusted
That is complete bull.... The pulleys will increase power throughout the entire RPM range, check out AEM's website, they show a graph of before and after. I have already bought them and plan on putting them on when ever the weather gets nice again.

Pulleys will definitely give you a power gain. The best pulley to get though for a power bump is a crankshaft pulley.
I plan on getting the AEM Pulley kit (Yes it comes with belts) and then getting the Unorthodox Racing Crank Shaft Pulley.
The crank shaft is where you will get the most power...but with a whole set of all the pulleys, you will definitely notice the performance of you car change for the better.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the AEM pulley kit came with a chain to replace the belts because it was stronger and lasted longer......

antidote11: Yeah, the thing that frees up the most power is the crankshaft pulley. I'm waiting for the whole UnorthodoxRacing.com pulley kit to come out. Then I'll get all three!

02CarbonCivic: Chain? No way, the pullies have belts, the cam gear has a chain. Maybe AEM's cam gear comes with a new chain, but I doubt it.

i had the unorthidox underdrive pulley on my 99hb, waste of money, iam sure it would be much more worth while if you have p/s and a/c, duh, i hate those graphs they give you, i saw the graph for my 99 before i bought it, it showed like 5hp at the wheels, yeah, maybe .005! the best thing, and i know it will be hard, but find someone who has them installed on their 2k1, then you will know if it's worth while...other people, not sales people, are the best kind of research...........

install is a pain...something you may want to have a professional do. I have yet to put in the new alternator pulley because it is very hard to loosen the bolt on the stock one. you need to heat it up with a blow torch to loosen the seal, and then turn like a motha! but i must -say with just the one pulley on, i see a great deal of increase in torque in lower rpms, something worth the money in itself in my opinion. Do a search, on the pulleys, and i think you will find enough information to result in a DIY.

GREY

Yeh, I hear ya, I may just hold out for the Unortho Ultra SS Kit myself.
I talked to a guy over there.....and he said it would be a few months, and that was about a month ago.
So hopefully it should be soon.
