And as can be seen by other new realtively new cars to the market like the Scion Tc, Cobalt and Neon SRT-4, they offer a big bang for the buck in performance/features. Either Honda competes or they lose. The big question will be how much more the Si will cost then the EX. The Acura Type-S costs 23.6k right now and there is NO way the Si will cost more than this. Other than the engine/tranny, im guessing that 90% of the remaining parts will be the same as the other civics. The engine has already been developed from the RSX so there was no additional cost to do this. Thus its gonna be cheaper for them to produce and remain competitive. Im guessing it will cost 21k as the cheapest and 23k as the max. So i'll hazard a guess that the msrp will be 21.9k
And for that price my car will be sold as soon as the Si comes out so i can buy one.

So it is very possible that it might even cost more then the TypeS if you get an SI with all the options. Honestly, i'd rather have HIDS, NAVI and a LSD then 10 extra hp.
I bet the handling on the new SI is probablying going to be better then the TypeS too, Considering honda understands MacPherson Struts a little better then they did before with the 7th gen and rsx. I agree it'll probably top out at 24k with out dealer mark up. I'm sure everyone going have to pay over sticker once this car comes out, the SI that is.
Dear Fans. I find this in the honda international page. Is the EuroConcept from Civic. AND I LOVE IT. THIS IS THE ONE THAT I WANT.
I will talk today with my honda dealership tomorrow saturday, so i can find more info, about if the Europe or US will have it first.
But all the talk that i a read this days, should be in the 25 range. But this is the color that I need.
XAVIER this is that car man.
Enjoy......

I'd guess at the handling being near the same level as the RSX as well. All depends on how high they keep the car off the ground. RSX's come of the lot looking like 4x4's. When you drop them even an inch, OH MY GOD, handling goes from alright to SEXCELLENT!!
I was riding on some Spoon springs for a while (2 inch drop) and they totally transformed the car even tho it was a bit too bumpy. Anyways, they did make a point that they minimized wheel gap and that would be great so not as many people have to go out and buy aftermarket suspension. The Woman Who Gave Birth to Rabbits. The k20a3 would make the most sense for the EX. It looks like the 8th gen civic will be a bit heavier so a bigger engine would be welcome. Regardless of the weight a bigger engine will normally get you less mileage so that would be the only negative. Honda might keep the 127hp engine for the DX model tho to keep the car cheaper off the lot as well as make it cheaper over the long run with its higher mpg.

Honda also stated they wanted to move the civic more of a premium brand.

The 5-dr hatch Civic shown at the Geneva auto show (vtec.net) is very unique, and some may say it's ugly, but from some angles it looks very aggressive and nothing out there looks like it. I like the direction Honda is going - be bold, be different. Current Civic is so bland.

I just love ability and versatility. I am planning on getting the si though...just cuz Im in love
Friends, most agree, the civic si concept ROCKS. No questions ask. The car looks good, and for the looks, is fun to drive. But we have to wait until the final production is ready to see if the bucks appear from tin air. I like Honda. The 5 door specs is agreessive, if the news about the engine is true, and only comes in 5 door, i will take it. Remember is we can combine a kick *** engine, with a 5 door sedan, i will take the sedan. Since the 1998, VTI 4 door is missing.
civic hatch?

I guess my point is, the honda s2000 is honda's "sports coupe / roadster" blah blah whatever, to make a stock civic that competes or smokes its *** would be a stupid marketing ploy on honda's part. It has happened before in the past, anyone remember the Buick Grand National? GM Made a car that was faster than their own corvette, what sense did that make?? Sure it was a cool car, and people loved them, but what about the poor corvette owners?? Please correct me if i've been misinformed, but I more than anyone would love for them to make a civic that could compete with the evo or sti or something like that, but i doubt it will ever be close to a reality, the only way i could see it happening, is if they gave the s2000 a good steroid injection or discontinued it then sure they might, but they'd be shooting themselves in the foot to take the civic in the direction that we all want to see it go. I still love my car tho!

Dear fans.
This car is the new eurocivic. I find this car in a add on January. It has 5 door. COOL. I have a meeting this a honda dealer to find more information about if i can buy this car or the two door. I will keep it post it about it. Here is the add that i find.

do you guys remember this accord concept honda released... Its similar to the civic in terms of the spoiler, wheels, roof and so on. So you guys can make out what the civic will ACTUALLY look like without the steroids.

Anybody have any idea on the release date on the SI? I know that the 8th gen should be realeased sometime in august or so since somebdy mentioned they were going into production in canada right now.. and was wondering how much longer i should wait for a new ride.... a used rsx type s is lookin real good for my situation right now...grrrrr lol
Don't know if its been covered (don't feel like reading 48 pages) but according to TOV the DX and LX will get a new R18 1.8 SOHC producing 140-150 HP and the EX will get a R20 2.0 SOHC making about 160 HP.
