its called a bicharger system...i know a guy who had a 6th gen hatch with a bicharger setup on it running high 9s
Forced Air Technologies project STI
AMG supercharger
Garrett turbo
Was running at 8lbs of boost on the S/C and 12lbs on the T/C before an I/C was fitted on.

You can supercharge and turbo charge a vehicle.. a supercharger works off your intake and a turbo works off your exhaust..
If i'm not mistaken the miguiars car is Turbo/Supercharged.. It couldwork with our civics if we had 1) a supercharger 2) the internals strong enough to withhold that amount of power.

i bet he goes thru a 1/2 tank of gas just starting the damn thing. gas $$ vs. that set up is questionable however very awesome indeed.

Ummm i beleive a supercharger is run off the crank pulley. its connected to the pulley via a belt which spins the supercharger.
Someone brought up an interesting point on likeaferio's link:

Well wouldn't a nitrous system accomplish the same without parasitic drag of the supercharger?
If you're going to go through all that, wouldn't nitrous be better? Well wouldn't a nitrous system accomplish the same without parasitic drag of the supercharger?

Our engine will blow after 5 min of driving w/ stock internals.

Hey! Look At Me!! I'm a Supporting Member!! sweeeeeeeet *drooling*
thats something new...i think itll be cheaper if he just got n2o for low-midrange...
Yep, I remember first seeing that on the Team Meguiar's Type-R, it was putting down like around 450 horsepower I believe.
why is everyone questioning the reason behind it? wtf who cares? that is some crazy wrenching.

holy **** you cant even see out of the window
Its Been Done Before...I remember way back when...HKS had a superchanged & turbo interga
yes a bicharger system is very possible on a civic and would actually be quite easy if judging by the amount of space under the hood of a 2003 Civic EX (the car I am familiar with). after the stock intake setup is removed it would be very spacious, just have to change up the internals. all forged would be needed, but honda makes very solid blocks so that would not be a problem.
the 8psi, 12psi setup...yeah that sounds about right...for a track only application you might be able to push that to at most 10, 15-16.
you're right, it does make sick power, blower on the low end and turbo on the high end. the blower on the low end also allows the turbo to have a big fan (bigger the fan, longer it takes to spool but more power it makes on the high end)
this system is also called a whipplecharged system
we had one of these last year at school during our F5 racing competition...a blown, turbocharged, nitrous, fuel injected two cylinder honda motorcycle engine puts out good power...too bad we never had time to dyno it. we kept the block and just replaced internals, got the traction to back the power, retarded ignition, etc.
made sick power, I wish we had a dyno available...I will make that suggestion for next year

nitrous at low-midrange...that would require forged internals as well, so I don't see it being much cheaper...less powerful anywayOriginally Posted by Changu-San

by the way, the bicharged setup actually gets scary good gas mileage...it is pretty obvious that any car makes its best efficiency in the high gears and turbos notoriously help that efficiency...the blower helps slightly as well but gets it into those high gears quick...with a setup like this though you are running 103 octane racing gas + octane booster anyway so although you may get 50 miles to the gallon, each gallon costs a boatload

Who wastes their time pulling someone over on the Turnpike for a graduation tassle when there are guys flying by me at 95 in a 65 double penalty zone...
It's because I'm a young white driver...good looking car I must be street racing. ::rolls eyes at retard cops::
