muffler
muffler
I want to quiet my car down some, and i think maybe by changing the muffler i maybe able to do this. My question is what muffler would make it quiet, but still a little rubble to it?
would a sec res added in line loose alot of flow, and would it make my car sound quieter?

Another resonator would quiet you down, considering our cars are LEV and ULEV anyway you're not gonna gain or lose anything significant from adding/removing a resonator. Why not pop a silencer in there? What kind of muffler is it?

A silencer is a little tube with a round metal piece that you stick in your tailpipe and secure with a little knurled nut and bolt. It cuts down on the noise (and flow) quite a bit, and as such may even increase backpressure (tiny bit more torque). They can be had for anything from $20 - $50. Check ebay for "exhaust silencer" to see what I'm talking about. Ask at any performance shop and you can get a recommendation for your car. Do yourself a favour and don't buy it from PI, unless you LIKE having your *** stretched.
Ya I've got a borla style exhaust and it came with the silencer and when it's in you can tell ( the sound) it's almost stock if you ask me. I playing around with my timing every 2 days to see with and without the silencer where is the best step up. I'll let everyone now as soon as I'm done testing.
