So I'm all geared up to head out tonight and I get in my car, turn the key and nothing happens...just silence and darkness....I look up at the ceiling and notice that I left my interior light on for the past 5 days while I was away
I'll get a boost later.
Anyone ever do something like that?

Did that once when I went to my friend's cottage. No one around for like 50km each way, no cellphone.
Fortunately her brother just happened to be on the way up the day we were trying to leave, so i got a boost.

Yeah how can you possibly lock keys in the car? The driver lock won't even push down if the key is in the ignition. And don't you use keyless anyway?

Oh, and shut the door. Wahla locked keys in car.
haha one of the ways you could (if you were really tryin) you would have to pop the hood, put the keys in the car, shut the door lock them with the keyless, then disconnect the battery then close the hood. lol
alot of more work than the above

As Civicious stated, if you pull the door handle (inside or outside) and lock the doors, you can then close the door and it will remain locked. Thus you can lock your keys in.. Unfortunately
I've done this, luckily I've always thought ahead and I have a dummy key (doors no ignition) in my wallet
As for your predictament YUL, at least you knew the reason. Its more a pain
when you figure out your alternator went to crap and you've been draining your battery for too long
I'd offer you a boost if you still need it ... though I'd need to find my cables first
