Hey gearbox. Just take a break for a little bit. You said it yourself. You need to take the time to enjoy what you've done instead of working on project after project. Give it a few months and you'll be back.

Take a break or save the modding till you get a car where its actually worthwhile. I refuse to touch my engine and void any warrenty to get an extra 3 hp. Just enjoy the car for what it is, and when the time comes you get a car with more potential, just go apeshit with it. For myself, I plan on getting either a WRX or a E36 M3 within the next few years and going to town on the motor because i know i will actually get something out of it.

i stopped after i realized how much i was spending on useless (relatively speaking) mods compared to the gain i would get if i were to have put it toward a new car. ie, a grand here 500 bucks here, another grand there and i got a down payment on a new car with the same payments as now. so, 10k(kelly blue book) for a civic EX 2001, 127hp, etc etc, + the money i have spent on mods + same monthly payments as civic = new scion tc, mazda 6, RSX, celica, shiet even a cavalier has more hp than the civic, but you get the picture...

worth it? it's up to you on that.. is it economically viable? no. logical? no. hence the reason i stopped.

going on 6 months now.

I saw we start an official "I Quit Modding my Civic" club... hehe

We all get that way sometimes. Give it some time gearbox. You may come back to it, you may not. But if it's not making you happy RIGHT NOW, you need to step back a bit and take a breather. I've had to do that several times myself, but I always end up coming back.

Gear,
You have become wise my brother, small stock OEM mods are the way to go, saving your $$$, nothing to lower the value of the vehicle, or change its look from stock except with OEM parts (lookin stealth, sleeper, stock, cool). Real gains come from an engine swap or minds well buy another car with more hp if you are going to do a swap in my opinion. I love my civic and will keep it for a long time (till it dies...)

I think modding comes to a point where you have exceeded the potential of the car when compared to cost. Some of us wanna go all out, while other drives stock, while some of put altezzas on and huge wings...its all a matter of opinion and of course, MONEY$$$.

I've stopped modding my engine also. I realized I don't need a car much faster than what my civic already is, I have some modest mods to the suspension and that's enough, a decent intake, and couple of small things. I am about to get the last mod for my civic, RSX seats. And those are becasue I don't like the lumbar support of the stock seats.

Instead of putting money into my civic, I am saving for a real nice car or a vacation or something else I want. But I've realized I am happy with what I got for a daily car. I don't want something showy or gas guzzelling or broken 364 days a year. I just want a car to drive around and be comfortable in. If I want something fast, I'll buy a crotch rocket for 10G's and be done with it.
