Yeah I agree and they should do pretty well considering a V6 engine. Supposedly the car will be AWD and there may be a V8 model. For a car that is in the same class as the BMW 5 series and the E class, it had better perform.. If it does, I bet there will be big other big things coming from Acura.
It is AWD. No V8. They don't have one to put in there. The power will be a lot more than the competition's V6's, but it won't have the optional V8 that everyone else has. As far as the handling... Well, they've done a lot of great work with FWD cars, but there is a physical limit which Honda has bumped in to. In order to give it great handling they allowed varying degrees of power to be sent to each rear wheel. Of course, it's a Honda, so it's also rated @ LEV2. I'm guessing a system that will allow for cruising with the front wheels and accessible awd power when you stomp the gas.

Please do not pick apart what I was saying. I never said there would be, I said "supposedly" which means talked about.

Yes it will have more power than the majority of V6's = 300hp. As for the handling, SH-AWD seems to be pretty fuggin technological IMO.. I don't see how that is a "bump".

SH-AWD: How it works:
By monitoring driver input and driving conditions, the SH-AWD system determines the optimum front-rear and lateral (left-right) torque distribution. This information is then conveyed to the rear differential, where direct electromagnetic clutches continuously regulate and vary front-rear torque distribution between ratios of 30:70 and 70:30, and lateral torque distribution in the rear wheels between ratios of 100:0 and 0:100. Torque is used not only for propulsion, but for cornering as well, resulting in a significant enhancement in vehicle maneuverability.

Meaning, mainly it is a 2wd vehicle, and the AWD is used when the system detects a need in cornering and off the line.

2002-2003 Si's in the states have rear disks that bolt on to our cars, with no mods. Costs about $500 with all new parts.

Honestly I've been looking into this, and as far as I see, the parts are basically US-Spec Si parts...probably cheaper to ransack an Si from a junker or something. Someone has been telling me that the rear rotors are totally proprietary to the EL, but I don't think Honda would have made rear rotors for just ONE car....plus they look the same as the ones on my buddy's SiR (our badge for the EP3 hatch). Didn't Hondaluver do a rear disc swap with EP3 parts?

^^^ I wasn't picking apart what you were saying... I was just quoting you to continue the conversation because everyone else was talking about the EL's disc brakes, which are nice, and I would love to get a pair on for my car, but I don't have the money to buy a set, new or used...

But anyways, the thing that I was refering to was the handling characteristics of FWD cars, esp with large engines. So I'm saying that the awd is a good thing... Technological indeed, gas-mileage, sports-car handling and a four seater that's from Honda... *drools*
