At the dealership I work at a 92 Civic came in one day with 686k miles on it. He was having his 4th clutch replaced. I was like in shock. The guy drives from Atlanta to Savannah daily. Which is about 285 miles each way.
We just bought a 93 civic hatchback dx 1.5L sohc, has 348,000+ on it and still runs! It needs a new head gasket and a screw is missing causing a small coolant drip. Other than that, from what I can tell no major repairs have been done. I even checked the carfax. Im hoping to drive that toy till the wheels fall off!
My last 93 civic hatchback also dx 1.5 had 40k on it when I bought it in 98 and had well over 250,000 miles on it when I sold it in 2007 and the only things I did where basic upkeep, brakes, belts, clutch, filters. It still ran great when I sold it!!
I'm winning with 423,000km right now on a 2001 lx auto (original everything)
I've managed to fix all my little issues and just need to replace my hood (little bit of rust) otherwise runs like new. Even had an offer to trade for a friends Passat with only 90,000km on it. No way mang. Running her into the ground.
Anyone know at what mileage the odometer will rollover at? I'm just curious. I got my Jetta to rollover but it was at only 400,000
My neighbor has a '96 civic with over 450,000 mi, he bought it new and still putts around in it. Another has a corolla with over 600,000. Domestics can last, it just isn't as common. My dad had a Chevy ton truck with the good 'ole 6.5 turbo diesel, we put 300,000 miles of abuse on it, most of them hauling 20,000 pounds on a trailer up and down back roads and through fields, and was never properly taken care of.
I'm on my second Civic. My previous Civic - 96 LX Sedan Automatic - went out like this:
262,*** on the clock. Ran like a beaut, burned a little oil - 1-1 1/2 qts per oil change, quiet, rode smooth, no knocks, immediate start (Honda-wise), driver window and back passenger window wouldn't go down, no a/c, super - I mean SUPER - clean on the inside (freaking impeccable, I was the idiot who spilled his coffee and frantically cleaned it up).
Front passenger side K-frame was half rusted away. It was holding together with grime. Had to take it to the yard because I had nowhere to keep it. A very sad day. Very sad indeed.
Still got the original rims off that LX on my 2000 DX hatch!
well, based on the mileage numbers here my 2012 civic lx is just getting broken in at 62K. previous car was 99 escort zx2 with 137K on it but could feel it was down on power. oh well, like i told salesman : this will most likely be last car i buy" I only drive 6,000-8,000 mile a year.
so... what's the highest mileage honda automobile you've seen? i was at the dealership today getting my maintence, and i asked one of the service supervisors what's the highest mileage honda he's seen. he said that he has hondas with over 200,000 miles come in all the time with no problems (with regular oil changes, etc). he also mentioned his service manager had a honda (usual life span of any car about 100,000 even if that) with over 400,000 miles on it! if there's one thing that honda's are... is RELIABLE. amen!

Poor GrubHub driver pulled out in front of me ending my relationship with this car. Purchased new in ‘07, original transmission (Auto), block replaced under warranty @ 417K miles, plugs changed @ 300K, rear brake shoes/drums replaced @ 550K, a couple front wheel bearings & starters along the journey. Plenty of brake pads, oil changes & tires. A/C & PS no longer worked, but was still getting 38-40 mpg. Actually surprised the CEL hadn’t burned out by now. It’s been on for years. 🤑
