We have stage 2 vtec which engages depending how hard you push the gas pedal i'd say you take that back Joined: Jul 2002

Driving normal.. I shift when ever I feel like it. The better the mood, the higher I usually go, but no higher than 4500 usually. Just lollygaging in traffic... maybe 3500.

for just driving around i usually shift around 3.5k and if i am merging into traffic off an on-ramp or sumtin similar then i will usually shift around 4,300-4,500........there is no reason to go over that unless ur are racing.
Usually 3500 for economy purposes.
Shift points vary with different cars - A car with a bigger engine and a lower redline (prob longer gears) can obviously shift a lot lower because it will get the same power at much lower rpm. Our cars have zilch as far as low end power and a fairly short first gear, so we have to leave it in gear until a higher rpm in order to get moving.
