EPS warning disappears when engine turned on
EPS warning disappears when engine turned on
Hello,
I recently bought a used 2015 Civic LX Sedan (automatic) after retiring my 2002 civic. I have noticed that when the I turn the key to the accessory position, my dashboard lights up as usual and I also have an amber EPS (Electronic Power Steering) warning (along with the ECO symbol and the parking brake symbol). But it disappears when I turn the engine on and the steering feel is normal like other 2015 Civics which I test drove.
The user manual doesn't explicitly mention if this warning could be posted when the engine (and power steering) are not on. For sure, the power steering isn't (and shouldn't be) working but should I constantly have an EPS warning until the engine is turned on? Should I have the vehicle checked out even if the warning disappears with the engine on?
Thanks so much!

Re: EPS warning disappears when engine turned on
It's normal, it will be on until the engine is running like the battery light, oil pressure, check engine, etc.
