Rep Power: 0 Check engine light on 2014 Civic
Hi everybody, Great forum here
I own a New Civix 2014, 20,000Kms (basically a second car used for supermarket, kids to school, etc)
Yesterday I tried to turn the engine on and it made the typical noise of a drained battery, so I recharged it and later it worked OK.
Today, I was planning to "recharge it again" and did the same, but this time the car started and after 2 seconds, turned off.
Tried several times until I got the "ENGINE CHECK YELLOW LIGHT and a message: "Check Engine Emission"
Since my battery had 4 full years of service, I opted to replace it with a Varta, and checked the whole system an it was working OK.
I also checked every fuse (engine/interior) and none was burned.
I tried one more time and engine started, but the CHECK ENGINE EMISSION remained all the time.
I took it to the Honda Service for it's 20000 km service,
and they told me they never had that situation in relation to the Engine check light (Engine emission),
hopefully they will scan it.
What can be causing this issue?
Engine works fine, no changes in power or acceleration.. I checked cables and fuses just in case...everything ok.
Thanks !

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
Re: The car starts and then shuts off in 2 seconds
tl:dr
Check engine light is on.
Find out what the fault codes are and go from there.
EDIT: moved to a new thread
