Intakes For Auto EX

Just had a Question for those of you that are experienced-- What kind of intakes would you recommend for a 2001 EX auto? I know as far as cold air intakes, I'm stuck with the short ram...can you help me out?

You can get an INJEN CAI for the auto. But if you get a SRI i'd recommend you get the K&N FIPK or some shiot like that.

EDIT: I'm gettin the INJEN CAI for my auto.

I have a 2k1 auto ex, and I have the Injen CAI - it seems to do it's job, although with any intake you get it's gonna be more for looks than performance if you do nothing else and have an otherwise stock car.

Well, thats understandable-- whats the smartest thing to do to a 2k1 civic that will increase HP significantly...i mean not like a turbocharger...i just want a little more than 127hp

Power wise, it'll all be about the same. But if the FIPK is made of plastic, then go for that. My AEM SRI sounds a bit tinny compared to other intakes i've heard. I'm guessing plastic might help it sound better, plus it's got that cool heat shield.

depends on where u live.
i have 2k1 si (ex in us model) auto. i just ordered injen sri from tornactive today.
i wanted injen race division intake (cai) but here in vancouver it rains a lot.
so i worried it may suck something up (water or snow).
i decided to be safe than sorry.

I have automatic trans. You can notice the difference above 3000 RPM. Chart shows about 4 HP gain. No reall losses in torque at lower speeds. I find the FIPK is giving me a boost when accelerating at highway speeds like passing someone from 60 and going on up to 90 MPH.

Install is easy. Everythng fits perfectly. It will take longer to remove the OE Intake than to install the FIPK. It also has good instructions.

The FIPK has it all over the other SRI's because:

1. It fits flush to the throttle body. No silly putty adapters and couplings.

2. It has the heat shield and that really works.

3. The mounting brackets fir perfectly, and bolts to the same holes as the OE inake.

4. It comes with cleaning and oiling kit.

5. The filter couples at the rear wall of the heat shielc, again no silly putty adapters.
