Gutting cat?
Gutting cat?
New here! Got a 2005 civic ex 4dr. I wanting to get headers and possible gut my cat. In yalls opinions does gutting the cat cause any real issues. I'll buy a spacer for the downstream o2 se sensor for no check engine light. Any tips or insight?
Re: Gutting cat?
I wouldn’t. I went full catless briefly on my FR-S and it *stinks*. I switched my tune and was able to net decent gains but wasn’t at all worth it for the daily driving I did. I am running a catless header but the secondary one is still there.
Beyond the smell, your car’s just going to sound awful. A header is fine but leave the secondary cat alone.

ah, if you sell the cat, you get money, instead of gutting it...

Either way, I'm standing on principle. Too smelly and won't sound very good
