2004 Si Short Ram air intake
2004 Si Short Ram air intake
I’m just starting my engine mod, I want to install a short ram air intake on my 2004 civic si. I can’t find any install videos of this and I can’t find any threads or articles suggesting the best to go with. Any help is very appreciated. Sorry I’m a newbie. I had a 96 and an 02 EX 5spd but never altered under the hood.

Re: 2004 Si Short Ram air intake
by itself?
it will make noise
oh, wait, it is a Si. No, not sure how much change it makes on a K-series, although do not expect much more than noise.
My CAI only came alive after I installed a cower stage 1 camshaft. K-series might get some more ponies. On D-series, it only really gave me some mouse power lost in noise.
Unsure of gains in k series engines

Most cai/Sri kits, you just remove all stock intake box parts up to the throttle body, then install the cai.
The stock system is just a plastic pipe, with a few baffling boxes to lower the induction noise, similar to mufflerson the exhaust. You're removing that pipe system and installing a simpler pipe system.
