I installed a aftermarket short air intake yesterday and
and now today my car is making a knocking noise whenever I'm in the low rpm range.. My car is running fine and actualy is running better but this noise sounds like ****.. I can't tell where it's comming from, has this happened to anybody else?

It's actualy like a clicking noise.. Their wasn't a hole for the breather tube on the intake so I put a breather filter off the engine could that be doing it?

that would not cause the noise, but could ruin the engine over time. put a towel over the intake pipe and close the hood. i bet the noise goes away.

What do you mean wrap the intake pipe with a towel? Won't that catch fire and the sound sounds like it's comming from my engine

i just meant as a quick test. alot of those ebay generic intakes hit the hood and make rattle noises. so if the towel fixes it, you need to modify the intake by cutting the pipe so it sits lower. otherwise an intake should not cause any problems. its just air moving thru it to the engine.

Wooow i think that what it is because I thought it looked alittle high I can definetly lower it a little bit.. Thank you very much I will try that when I get outta work an hour and let you kno what happened.. Thanks for the help!
