AEM V2 or Injen.
I've had CAI, SRI, and now the AEM V2. I'm like you. I know the intake doesn't really add any hp, and I knew that when I bought it. I bought it because it makes a real nice deep sound.
A regular AEM CAI or SRI won't sound as nice.

aem and K&N sounds rice. i have weapon-r secret now and it sounds like my exhaust, nice and deep but alot quieter than normal intakes. and it makes turbo sucking noises when shifting at high rpm in my auto

I had a BOMZ ebay intake and it sounded really good when you hit the throttle hard but lots of swishing that got annoying. You could hear the air passing through the filter and the engine sounded really raw if you thats a good description. Later I upgraded to an AEM V2 and its true that intake sounds like no other. Talk about DEEP GRUNT. If you have a stock exhaust you can really hear it but not so much with an exhaust. Any intake sounds better than stock IMO but I'd have to go with AEM V2 for the win.
i have an aem cai and it sounds really good but i haven't heard anyone around here with an aem v2 or injen or any others at that, but on my car its pretty quiet but whenever i shift it makes a little psh noise. at first everyone around here thought my car was turbo'd but it was just the intake suckin in air...kinda lets you know what kind of idiots there are around here, haha
hahaha i ended up doing the same thing you should check it out when you drop by it looks pretty tight except i did mine with 2.5 inch pvc piping haha you can see the pipe from outside of the car lol

blah blah blah...this has turned into a pissing match. It's a frickin intake, who cares how it sounds! As long as air gets in that is all that matters.
