gasket for header

gasket for header

so i got a used megan racing header a few days ago. it came with no gasket. the question is do i go get a new gasket from honda? or do i need to order one from megan? just wondering.

just get one from honda man its cheap! megan probably doesnt even offer JUST a gasket. call honda the header gaskets are cheap. i just got my megan header too! hehe

The one that came with my header was pretty thick from Megan probably because the flange isn't perfectly flat. You could try a new Honda one but you might need something thicker if it leaks.

well, the flange has impressions from what i guess to be the megan gasket. the one with little bumps and stuff in it. its not impressed into the metal, but you can see silver/brown where it was covered by the bumps. know what i mean? i might have to take a pic.

Yeah my flange that I got had like metal, then a thin line of cardboard, then another slice of metal.

just got told the oem one is the one im supposed to use from the seller i bought it from. off to the dealership tomorrow! i need both the flange and the collector gasket for the bottom too. install in a few weeks when i have time.
