First of all, I have searched many times and I've had almost no input on the sound of intakes. This post has nothing to do with making power or strut bars... lol

Since we all know intakes on our engines make next to no power, I want my intake to be the best sounding one. I don't really want a true CAI all the way into the bumper either. Let's hear some opinions and possible have some pictures of intakes installed in the cars. There's a major lack of those in here, almost no pics of intakes installed.

I used to have injen cai, sounded nice. Unless someone has installed a bunch of different brands on their car, it'll be hard to say "what sounds the best"

lol my friend gave my the piece of the AEM intake that connects to the throttle body for the 01 ex ... ( its red so i dont know if its the v2 style ) and i threw an injen filter on the end of it and BAM! i have a AEM Short Ram with an Injen Filter and 2 blue rubber connectors...

btw my car only has 92k miles on it and been maintained thru the dealership its whole life and everything has been taken care of ASAP when something is wrong ...

but my Aem SRI make people think i got a turbo and with a tsunami front bumper and the unpainted radiator they REALLY do think i got a turbo .....lol
im gonna run some fake charge pipes to the radiator to make people think i do and tell my friends its just a gag ....

I love the sound of my el cheapo ractive short ram... Sounds better then my friends K&N typhoon.... well...I think so anyway...
under 2k, if you give it some gas..its rreeaall deep, above 3k it sounds nice, not rice at all

I had an ebay SRI for awhile then traded to a Injen CAI and I must say the ebay one was louder then the CAI. the piping for the ebay one was i think 3" and the injen 2.5" so that could have accounted for the sound difference.

i put my aem cai to a short ram for the winter and its alot louder but thats just b/c the filter is alot closer 2 the hood. i think i may have gained some torque with it 2

i think my intake sounds best. Not exactly top knotch for performance purposes, but i ran out of 3" aluminum bends. So i just made it a filter on a stick. And they dont exactly make an intake for my intake manifold

I had ebay generic and now have an aem v2. I like the v2 better, it sounds more throaty...

If it's red, it's a V1 AEM CAI. V2 only comes one color. Get V2 for sound and a bit of performance gain.
