what I did to mine is a heat insulation wrap(i know it's suppose to insulate but maybe just use all heat shield and just double lay it), then on top of it is the Heat Shield... it's kinda thick but damn, if I can hold the wrap with my palm after an hour drive it's gotta be cooler underneath it...

well yea. to insulate is the idea keep the cold air cold. i'm thinkin that since the injen is a true cai that it will work better than the K&N once it's insulated.

Use the aluminized adhesive tape (the 2nd link). You need at least 30' of it, maybe more... I never did the whole thing, but the upper pipe took 1 15' roll to do.

you drive a four cylinder civic just like i do and trust me wrapping the damn thing with hot ice is not going to make a difference...thats is of course unless you dropped a supercharged v12 that produces all that heat wrap needing heat!

So you're saying it doesnt get hot under the hood? OK then my temp gauge must be broken. Anyway i'm just doing this for fun. To see if it makes any difference at all.

It only makes a notable difference when its hot and the car is doing stop, then go hard (like drag racing or an autocross)... it keeps it from getting too hot while there's no air moving under there.
