B&M vs. REVO
ok I am hearing the difference of the two SS's, but who here has gone from a SS adapter to a whole unit? Is there a noticable difference? I have the DC adaptor and was thinking about going with the revo.
^sometimes i feel ripped off...cause after trying the dc-adaptor AFTER purchasing my b&m, it feels the exact same...if i just would have purchased the dc adaptor, i would have saved myself a lot of money...
^ditto!
yea, it's the same, and it's not really gonna make that much of a difference (if any) changing over to revo or b&m, ur just spending more money on useless things if u ask me

oh wow who cares if the civic has 6 speed or not. there's a potential problem. we're informing it. thats it. the thing is supposely DESIGNED for a RSX-S. if there's a problem in it, shouldnt' people know? you're also taking it so damn personal. if you read my post, no where did I say you're wrong.. I'm just trying to say why aznboy wasn't wrong because the cables do bend. dont want the wrong informations to be spreading around.
I'm glad you notice that most are 6-speed. but a friend of mine has a RSX base, and it rubs too. it hasn't bend yet, but thats because we filed the plastic down a bit, and lapped off a lil piece of the bracket.. I haven't heard of any Civics with that problem, and lets hope it keeps it that way.. because there is SLIGHT difference between the shifter assemblys, and the location of the shifter assembly may affect it too. But there isnt a lot of Civic owners with the B&M too. majority of Civic owners doesnt want to dish out $180 or so for the B&M too. cuz everyone on this site is a little overzealous about the Revo..
hya: if ure going to buy an adapter, might as well buy a generic one.. they're like 50% cheaper than a DC adapter. The best adapter is the Neuspeed one, IMO. it connects the shifter cable better, and bolts down to the bracket better too. (you'll have to drill and install the adapter, but that thing wont be falling off anytime soon.)
if you check on ebay, there's a generic version of the neusped out too. its from OBX. Adapter's silver. You'll see a drill piece included. (cost a bit more than the generic of the DC though)

and zen, im glad the bushing works well for u but lol.. you're raising expectations.. they're just bushings. not miracle workers.. heh
thanks though.

hm, what i mean is about the "plastic housing" of shifter cable....that people here said that it might bent and break.....NOT the revo housing itself...
the bushing really works....well, except the bolt problem that i encounter the first time...it's really pissing me off....
hehehe, seriously, my bro also won't believe the difference until we tried using the STOCK bushing on a stock shifter inside a stock used car.....there's a different feeling there...

actually er.. the revo housing might break. lol.
this person has the corner snapped off.. and the plastic housing that surrounds the main shifter cable, has been known to snap off too.
I duno. it just depends on ur luck too.. whether you get a quality one or a bad batch. there's never going to be perfect production. among the bushings I get outta.. some arent milled right. so I toss those out. *shrug*

i went from a neuspeed adapter to the revo ss, and its a WORLD of difference... the throw is waay shorter with the ss, and the height difference is noticeable. adapter is cool, but the real deal is the revo... i say revo cuz i never tried the b&m so i dunno bout it, but gt says he doesnt feel much difference so.. dunno?
^ honestly, u think a few % is gonna make that much of a difference when shifting? i mean, you can hardly tell the difference between a 30% reduction vs a 35% reduction...so in the end, the cheaper the better because sooner or later, you'll get use to it and you'll want something even shorter...
i'm already use to my b&m, and now i want something even shorter..but no one makes anything shorter...

^i thought revo was only 35%...but either way, anything over 25% is already good enough, it's not like you can actually even shift that fast without grinding something or missing a gear
oh yeah ... I currently have a revo on right now too ... so I'll opinions of both the shifters
from what I can tell ... the revo's stick is much shorter ... the b&m's is much thicker though. b&m's is a lot prettier ... polished up and whatnot ...
I'm also grinding down part of the stock shifter console ... hope that fixes the cable-bending problems that some b&m users have been having
