and like the revo, the b&m can also switch gears with the wrist

might want to check with ur facts before u say that.
he's right, the B&M has design flaw.
u know where the metal bracket that connects the shifter linkage? it rubs against the plastic housing.. so for some it shreads away the plastic housing, and eventually bends the shifter cable.
although B&M is still a good unit, might be an issue for some who shifts extra hard. some people have the problem, some dont. but enough people have it, that I wouldn't recommend the B&M fully anymore. *shrug*
you can easily go to clubrsx and do a search to find hundred of post on this, and many pictures to prove it.
its usually a wear issue, where eventually the metal bracket rubs away the plastic so much it bends the cable.
there's some temp solutions too. like filing the plastic so it doesnt rub.. or turning the cable around so it'll bend back the other way.. heh.
sigh, there's no perfect shifter for our car. in terms of built quality and reliability, stock's best. its still the smoothest after all.
still, I have no major problems with my revo/obx replica for quite awhile now (2 year+ ?) the weld on it is better than initial production models...

yeah that happens too. its rare but the plastic housing is not the same type of plastic material as the stock one's. u can feel the weight and durability difference.
and zen, im glad the bushing works well for u but lol.. you're raising expectations.. they're just bushings. not miracle workers.. heh
thanks though.

read the clubrsx thread, then tell me i'm wrong...same with all the other people out there before giving me any of this "oh you hate americans, i hate you" bs....
I AM AN AMERICAN!! I HAVE IDENTIFICATION TO PROVE IT AND ALSO A BIRTH CERTIFICATE!!!
btw i never once stated i do not like revo, i simply said that it's a load of bs that he can bend a cable, and have no pictures to prove it...for all i know, he could be working for revo....so it all comes down to personal preference like stated before....man, this thread is going nowhere...

er. its not just ONE thread. there's multiple threads. with different pictures from different people showing different problems from the B&M. we're hardly saying B&M is crap, we're just saying there's problems with it.
you dont have problems with urs, thats great. but whats wrong with informing someone that there's potential problem. its hardly a one in a million issue here. there's a good number of people with the problem.
I would have thought its installation issue, had it not for the multiple amount of people, and even some who I know that isn't mechanically retarded with the issues.
I have no idea why you're getting upset too, you're the one that came off calling people names without checking the facts yourself.
yeah most people dont even know the fact that there's torque spec for most of the bolts on our car, but we all gotta learn and and be informed from somewhere. granted there's a lot of misinformation here.. and i'm sure I've spoutted off quite a few of them too.. but er.. he wasn't wrong when he said the B&M bends cable. they do. obviously not all of them, but a good enough amount for a potential buyer to considerate the problem.

so, to continue BACK to the topic..
this is NOT a personal preference issue. this is a clear R&D issue. they're also supplying shift kits with missing parts, etc.
the attachments are some of the pics of the problems and how the cable gets bend. the threads are the some of the ones with complaints. (there's more pics and more threads, search it up yourselves if you guys care)
now before this becomes B&M bashing, its not like the Revo is so great too. the housing plastic quality could be better.. there were welding problems and the Revo bracket will crack, the housing may rip or crack... the first generation of the Revos didnt even change the shifter linkage, it just has a shorten shift stick...
all of this has been covered before. if you search and do an actual research.. with multiple keywords, you guys can find a whole load of information. in fact I've probably went over stuff like this already. I really should finish my reviews and articles.. I got a crapload stored on my HD.. hmm.

CONCLUSION!!
i dunno if i have burst the bubble yet, BUT please hear me out....i was wrong, in some ways, but so were you guys....B&M does infact have problems with the cable bending, they also have major clearing issues with bracket rubbing against the plastic...but you wanna know something that's even more fcuked up? ALL THE CARS ARE 6-SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION!!! read the threads, look into their profile, you'll notice that all of them who are having problems with clearance issues and bending of cables are rsx-s....i haven't checked through every single user cause i'm late for class, but yea, from majority of what i see, that seems to be the case ONLY for the type-s! so capyoda: when did civic's come out with 6-speed?
