Best Intake for a 03 EX
I have a V2 on a stick EX. It is not really a CAI as the filter is high up right behind the battery not down low like the two peice CAI. Upside no perceived loss of low end definate increace 4K-7K ,being up high less chance of water ingestion. Downside, noisy, pricey, location of port for temp sensor too far away from stock that sensor wires needed to be lengthened, at least the way my harness was.

I bought the Injen Race Division CAI. It looks great in blue with red trim, and gave solid top end, but after around four grand, it gets kind of vociferous. I didn't notice any loss of torque, and it only cost $183 for an anodized true cold air. But I haven't heard anything negative about the K&N systems and they are around the same price. And about the dangers of vapor lock from its location, I duct-taped all the openings around the filter and drilled holes where the foglights would go for it to breath, plus it gave it kind of a ram air effect. No regrets other than the raucous growl in high rpms.
everyone knows that adding a CAI or SRI that you lose low end TQ but make up for it in the High End area. However no matter what intake you add to your EX civic the gains will be minimal if any, dont aspect a Rocket once the intake is added. I was thinking about investing money into making my Civic faster but i would save more money just buying a stock WRX and calling it a day
niether if you want to tap the most potential out of your civic go with a AEM Cold Air Intake if you decide to go the Short Ram Intake Route go with Dragon or Injen Short Ram a K&N filter will do nothing for you besides waste your time and money
oh my fault i wasnt trying to be rude or anything just wanted to let you know that the research done on the drop in K&N filter has shown that the gains are 1HP increase to -2HP decrease basically meaning you will get little to no gains. The Typoon intake i havnt read in results from Dyno testing regarding its performance so i cant comment on it
i hate winter also i have a set of Motegi FF5 17 inch wheels that im dying to put on my ride but im going to wait till winter is over because i dont want to mess them up. I have a DC sports Twin Canister exhaust and was considering a CAI AEM intake but again im going to wait till spring breaks so i can make my final decision
No no no, the K&N FIPKII isn't a drop in filter, it's an SRI, with a heat shield included. The K&N Typhoon SRI is the same thing pretty much just minus the heat shield, but I'm just wondering what the difference between the two are...

yes it doesnt add to many gains because of its restriction however the reason i purchased this exhaust is because i have a DX and no matter if i went with Greddy, apexi, or dc sports it really wouldnt matter considering my car isnt a power house. Now if elderbrook would make a Turbo for the 2001 model non-vtec civics i might consider a apexi N1 but i wont until Apexi makes a N1 for the Civic and not just a Universal
mclean987, with a 3in. intake pipe, you would lose your low end torque and throttle response in a trade off for top-end H.P. If you added a bypass valve, it wouldn't noticeably affect the intake's performance. Your only getting a miniscule performance boost with an intake anyways, like at most 5 or H.P.

Somewhat yes. I think the original AEM and Injen RD intakes both use 2.5 in. pipe to keep air velocity and and vaccum for torque. But I have the Injen RD intake and haven't noticed a significant loss in torque, and got better throttle response and top end power.
