Injen CAI Question (whistle Sound)
With the Injen CAI on our cars, does it make sweet sounds such as a little whistle when changing gears because i have an Injen CAI on my ex coupe and the only time i hear my Injen CAI is when i turn off the car and thats when the Injen CAI turns off...... I've heard it on my friends integra and other cars and when they change from 2nd to 3rd gear and accelerate you could hear their CAI throw out a deep whistle sound.
On my car, you hear nothing..... is that how it is on our cars if not what can i do to fix that???

Rep Power: 0 also when my car is idle i hear a slight thumping coming from the engine bay, but it only happens when in idle mode. please help i need some answers fast dont know if this is normal. thank since I'am really new to this.
Have you attached your CAI right? the thumping is probably the CAI rubbing against some metal......Also do you have a generic strut bar? mine used to realllly rub that i fixed that tho...not good for the engine.
To answer the first question....Mine whistles but not sure about it whisteling while i shift gears....Most likely they have a better intake a thicker diameter piping...Ive got this one friend with a 3" piping CAI and his is much louder than mine.

Rep Power: 0 What do you suggest i do , because my intake doesnt even whistle one bit and that thumping sound is getting annoying when iam in iddle position should i try to reinstall my injen cai again?

Rep Power: 0 that swoosh sound just depends on the intake and filter
i had a obx sri with a blitz filter and u could hear that swoosh sound when i shifted, it wasnt loud, but you could hear it and tell it was the intake, as for the thumpin sound, it prob the intake hitting something, as someone stated, just check the cai and strut bar for rub marks and adjust the tubing, if you dont see anything, let the car run, pop the hood and see if it does it then, and look for where its hitting

Rep Power: 0 Injen CAI dosent make that whoooosh noise, it makes deep sucking noise when you hard-step on the gas in any gear. The only one i hear that makes real woooshh noise was R1 cheap *** intake on my friends 97 EX. That thing sounds like turbo, and its only 95 dollar intake. And i payed 250 for my...

Rep Power: 0 yeah i have an AEM but still had some sound problems, i didn't have all the connectors tight enough and it was moving around, MAKE SURE that everythign is tight enough so that u can't move the pipes w/ ur hands
