He's not in SM with that CF trunk lid. That puts him into a street prepared class. I'm pretty sure about that since my friend with a CF hatch got shat on at the last AutoX for registering in SM.....people with their damn M3's were BITCHIN'. lol Funny thing was...it was his FIRST AUTOX EVER! lol (They actually thought he'd beat them!) HAHA

Thats wierd, because Street Prepaird doesnt allow for alternate body parts. e.g., CF hood or whatever, let alone a turbo... and Street Modifyed allows for ....


18.1 Allowed modifications

A. All Street Touring modifications are allowed.
B. All Street Prepared modifications are allowed.
C. Section 15.6(Prepared Category, Brakes), except for subsection 15.6.H


So if they were saying he is suppose to be in SP rather then SM due to a part.. then BY the rules he should be legal for SM... be cause all of the SP rules apply to SM too.


Maybe they ment he was suppose to be in Modified or prepaired... because of rule

G. The firewall, roof, doors, rear quarter panels, floor pan, trunk lid (if any) or rear hatch (if any) must remain stock. Holes may be drilled to allow attachment of body kits, etc. This specifically allows replacement hoods, fenders, wings, front & rear fascias, side skirts, and fender flares as per.

But the turbo and Carbon fiber parts Exclude him from Street Prepaired...
Any way, Her in Las Vegas, we'd let him run SM.... we're not as **** as some regions

Yeah...I'm guessing they were suggesting he be in a PREPARED class...mah bad. The official was saying that with the CF hatch he should be running with the fiberglass body vette's, RX-7's etc. that run. That's RETARDED. But oh well. My region CAN be ****...it's pretty big and they HATE Honda's (which also make up over half of the region, but hey....who's counting.)

I know, but I just enjoy going to those events to see you all from Corep3 and etc and have fun. I never was very competitive, but yeah I hope to still do the boost, Doug the owner of the tuner shop I am working at is confident he can convert me to supercharger. I dunno, we'll see. So, why am I out of SM class? so I am now STP huh? sheesh, I better keep driving an do more, with what I have...Sorry I cannot get an Si eitherway, wish I had the 2000 S1 to me that was my last favorite car, well next to this one.

You'll be out of STS and SM with that carbon fiber trunk lid. It's against the rules for those classes. You'll be running with the big boys now...but like you said, it's all about fun...no matter when you run.

Yeah...when I first got into imports...my car of choice was the 2000 Si....but now I have my EP3 and, like you and your ES, I won't give it up. lol

hey I got a qusetion? I am wanting to drop the car bad, but there is so many different set ups. I don't want coilovers, I want springs and the koni's I think, I am gonna be running the stock ex 7 spokes, powder caoted them black. But the part that is giving me a headache like no other is springs!!! What are some of you running how much gap? the suspintion pic page has 2 cars that say they are running the same set up and look way different. this is driving me nuts. I want to take away a good part of the gap but i don't really want the wheels tucked either. any help would be good. I really hate this, this has to be the hardest desoin concerning our cars.

When I had my EM2 (black coupe..EX) I was running the Koni's and Neuspeeds.

I LOVED the Koni's...and I liked the Neuspeeds, but I wish they were a bit stiffer (for racing).

The Koni install wasn't really all that hard, just time consuming. (BTW...Hint....SAWZALL IS YOUR FRIEND)

As far as meets go...not many EM/ES's meet. The EP3's (Civic Si's) meet every sunday at the Denver Skate Park, off 20th & I-25, at around 8pm. There's a few 6th gen coupes that show up, a few 7thgen peeps come too, a few DC5's (RSX's) and a few DSM's (Talon's, Eclipse's, etc.) that join in too. We're basically just Honda fans that get together, talk cars, and drive around. You're MORE than welcome to join us ANY time! I hate to say that I agree, since the K series motors are expensive to build, but one group did do the B18 swap and it was VERY expensive, just to do the swap and etc. It was some built motor they got like 500Hp out of. Eitherway, the B is great, but you should stick with a K for our body style and such. Good luck and welcome. BTW I'm proud to be a LEGHUMPER! lol
