Should I do a swap?

I have a 95 civic lx auto, with 190,000 miles on my d15... Im SICK of how slow this car is... Going up a steep hill yesterday with 2 friends in the car, pedal all the way down, the the car was loosing speed the entire way up the hill... That pretty much did it... Ive been wanting something faster for a while.

I want to stay around $3000. So far, Ive had people tell me to do a b18 swap and turbo it.. and to get a d16z6, ycp vitara pistons, eagle rods, and arp head studs... and turbo it..

My overall goal, new engine, trans, turbo, suspension.... Of course, the suspension will be last on the list, but it will happen eventually.

What would be my best bet to get 200+hp and have a new engine and tranny and stay as far under $3000 as possible.

Thanks!

Re: Should I do a swap?

Honestly I think you should just repair the car. Re-power it, and buy a car to mod.

It's an auto. Keep it a reliable d/d.

OK.
I will need to admit that you are not a troll. this is actually good advice.
Maintenance should be first, loss of speed seems to be more that it should be in this car. engine prolly is just tired and 3000 bucks is not enough (?) to put new engine and tranny and mounts, wiring, etc.

If it's for the better, then do it...

Re: Should I do a swap?

95 civic is one of my favorite body styles personaly if you wanna do a swap i would recomend a 1.8 ls if you wanna do it on a budget and then later down the road if you wanna add more power too that buy a b16 head and pretty much make it a type r either way that car has alot of potential for modding no point in buyin another car too mod if you like that one.

some sites too look at: osakajdmmotors.com Hmotorsonline.com those are my two personal swap sites i use you can get complete swaps at the Hmotors site all you would need is motor mounts shift linkage and some mechanical experince. for the mounts/linkage google hasport mounts anything else you need axles wiring ext. your local parts store will be fine.

but if you want more power yes maintance on the d16 would be something but your not gonna get anything special outta that motor unless of course you do a full rebuild which the money would be better invested in a swap

all this is my personal opinion and what i would do so good luck and hope some of this was usefull
