Which for motor turbo swap? b16 or b18b1

Ok, 1st off...I have a 90 Civic Hatch Si 5 speed. Ive done my research and narrowed it down to these 2. I have the cash for the swap, and the money for the turbo I will have by summer. Sooo, the question I have is...does anyone have a preference on which turbo motor they like best...I am hoping to hear from personal experience. I know the b18b1 is built like a brick, lower compression, although has no vtec and lower rpms than the b16, however that can be overcome by a simple tuning, and wire in vtec.

My plans are to do one of the swaps mentioned above, (obviously with the tranny as well) and then run 15lbs daily and most likely beat the **** out of it. And for that, I am thinking b18, but for simplicity and higher peak hp I am thinking b16???

Has anyone done one of these swaps with a turbo? Which would you recommend for reliability, ease of swap, and more hp. Again, I am leaning towards the b18b1 but I could be wrong.
Thanks guys,
Ian

Why not consider b18c1?

With the B18C1 U can Probably Get away With 14 PsI, But that Would Be the Max I wud Recommend on Stock Internals as a Daily Driver. If U run 15-20 PsI on Stock Internals U can Kiss Ur Motor Gud-Bye! LoLz. But Honestly I would Say the B18C1 is your Best Bet, Plus it's Got VTEC, So More Fun There, Not 2 Mention More Tq than the B16. With a Few Internal Upgrades U can Boost all Day with that B18C1 Motor. The B16 IMO Sucks if U Boost it, But every1 is entitled to their own opinion, LoLz.

Nothing will handle 15lbs of boost on stock internals very well, even a motor with lower compression will start to have problems.

I would run the b18c1, which already has 170hp stock and give it 10lbs of boost until you build up the internals. You'll get comparable power to the b18b1 on 15lbs MAYBE a bit less, but with vtec, a higher red line and more potential down the road.
