Help ID the thermo switch connector
Help ID the thermo switch connector
I have a 1991 Honda Civic hatchback DX project car and it is missing half of the thermo switch connector that goes to the thermo switch on the radiator. Can some one please help me ID if it is the connector on the bottom laying on the radiator hose ( that would be my guess) or the one that is on the top of the transaxle (or is this one for the AC ? ) Thanks!

Re: Help ID the thermo switch connector
Looking in a US car diagram here.....
This is a bassackwards way to figure out wiring.

I've got this one as called harness connector C109 (white), goes to the lock up control solenoid for an automatic, and maybe something else. The yellow wire is for the lockup solenoid.
IDK if there is a second wire in that connector, and didn't look long enough to find it or what it would be for.
The other one

The closest area I found is C209, diagram says it's green. (I can't tell what color yours is here?)
Looks like one is probably for the radiator fan. 2 wires-- are blue, and black/yellow.
Condensor fan motor (for AC equip) uses a nearly identical connector (also green), 2 wires in that one would be black, and blue/black.
Am I right? What do I win??!?!
If this is wrong, state what your wire colors are. Stripes and everything.

Re: Help ID the thermo switch connector
The connector on the top of the transaxle only has one white wire (The yellow wire goes to something else behind it, new photo should clear that up ). The connector on the bottom has 2 wires that are the same, blue with a red stripe ( thermo switch connector ? ) Thanks again.

Your newest pic.....How about the distributor?
I went through the engine wiring diagrams, but there isn't a real easy way to ID those connectors without already knowing what the rest of the circuit is, and you're missing that half of that equation.
You might need to gather up all the missing parts and see what plugs in, then deal with whatever is left over.
Or find an identical running original car to look at.
I saw 2 round connectors laying by the bottom radiator hose, I kinda figured they would be for the fans.
Do you have them? See if they plug in.
Do you have the correct radiator? Is there a thermoswitch in it?
Wait wait wait....
There's a blu/red.... in the Cond fan relay control, AC system, Goes to diode set,
pressure switch (on a hi side AC pipe by the radiator, pass side) This might be it but there is no ID pic of the C472 connector ....
and thermo switch (opens below 33 deg. F), that's probably the evaporator sensor? The diagram doesn't make that clear....connector.
I'm not going to be of much help without dumping a ton of time into research and trying to ID random black and white pics.
Check with your local library, see if they have access to Mitchell or Alldata online.
